Taylor Swift’s Initial Super Bowl Invite List Included 2 of Her Friends Who Allegedly Can’t Stand Each Other
Super Bowl LIX features the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Philadelphia Eagles. And fans can expect to see Taylor Swift cheering Travis Kelce on. Swift allegedly planned to bring some of her closest friends with her to the biggest NFL game of the season. Unfortunately, past sources alleged that two of the friends Swift planned to invite heavily dislike each other. Here’s what to know.

Taylor Swift will watch from the stands as Travis Kelce attempts to play his best NFL game of the season. Another Super Bowl win for the Kansas City Chiefs means they’d be the first team in the Super Bowl era to ever three-peat. And Swift won’t watch the game alone. According to The U.S. Sun, Swift initially planned to bring Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Ice Spice, Sabrina Carpenter, Selena Gomez, and Benny Blanco with her to New Orleans.
“Taylor would like to have some of her close friends and family all together and be there to show love and support her man,” an insider told the publication.
The insider added that Swift and Kelce planted the Super Bowl seed with Lively and Reynolds “months ago.” Lively and Reynolds have likely been planning on attending the big game since 2024.
Hopefully, all of Swift’s friends can get along. An insider told Life & Style in April 2024 that Lively and Gomez hate each other, with Gomez feeling “insanely jealous” of Swift’s friendship with Lively.
“Taylor’s tried many times to broker peace between these two divas, but they won’t play nice,” the insider alleged. “She thinks it’s silly the way they carry on, especially since the two don’t even know where all this hating began! Taylor feels like she’s doing a juggling act in a circus to keep them both happy, but her patience is wearing thin.”

Taylor Swift might be taking a gamble by inviting Blake Lively and Selena Gomez to the Super Bowl in 2025. An insider told DailyMail.com in January 2025 that there’s a reason Lively and Gomez are never seen with Swift “at the same time.” The actor and the pop star allegedly “constantly” avoid “run-ins with each other.”
Another source said Swift “knows not to mix” Lively and Gomez. “For a good hangout and good party, you know who to invite and who not to invite,” the source explained. “Taylor knows not to mix Blake and Selena in the same room and that it must be two separate nights.”
Lively and Gomez provide Swift with different types of friendships. “Blake enjoys the perks of being a celebrity,” the second insider continued. “She loves to have fun. If there is something fun going down, she wants to be a part of it and it is contagious. This is something that everyone, including Taylor, loves about Blake.”
“Selena just plays a different role in Taylor’s life,” the source concluded. “It is as simple as that.”
Taylor Swift might have uninvited Blake Lively due to ‘It Ends With Us’ lawsuits
While Selena Gomez and Blake Lively might not be happy to see each other at Super Bowl LIX, Taylor Swift might also be having issues with Lively. Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing lawsuits concerning It Ends With Us dragged Swift’s name into the conversation. In one text to Baldoni, Lively referenced Swift as one of her “dragons” who will “protect” her.
A source told DailyMail.com that Swift doesn’t want any involvement in the lawsuits and wants to take a “step back” from Lively.
“For the time being, she is taking a step back from Blake because she doesn’t want to get tangled in this more than she already has — which is far more than she ever needed to be,” the source alleged. “Her friends also think that Blake’s ‘I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have dragons’ text to Justin was uncool and unnecessary because she was essentially used as an intimidation tactic. She was referred to as some kind of pet or possession.”
Additional sources from TMZ said Swift no longer wants Lively with her at the Super Bowl in 2025. Swift might want distance from the It Ends With Us drama. Fans will have to wait and see who arrives with Swift.
