‘Teen Mom 2’: It’s Official, Jenelle Evans Absolutely Won’t Be Returning to MTV
It’s official, MTV won’t be working with Jenelle Evans ever again. In recent months, rumors have swirled that Evans would return to MTV once her divorce from David Eason was finalized. After all, Eason appeared to be the reason Evans was finally fired from her reality TV gig. With him out of the picture, fans assumed she’d mend fences with the production team. Eason’s behavior, however, appears to have been the last straw, and now MTV has officially put its foot down. Evans will not rejoin the cast of Teen Mom 2.
MTV has laid down the law, they don’t want to deal with Jenelle anymore
Evans may have been a massive ratings booster, but it is clear that MTV is entirely over her antics. The mother of three has caused quite a bit of trouble for the franchise over the years. They stood by her during several drug-related issues. They continued to film during her time with Kieffer Delp, who has gone on to serve time for operating a meth lab. They even dealt with a road rage incident that found Evans pulling a gun on another driver.
Sure, Evans was always trouble, but her relationship with the production crew really soured once she married Eason. The team was reportedly terrified of the father of three after he threatened them repeatedly and even went on a balloon popping rampage during a taping, according to Pop Culture. The incident shut down production and forced the camera crew to make a judgment call. They refused to film anywhere near Eason from that moment on. Evans was ousted from the show once news broke that Eason had shot and killed the family dog. Essentially, Evans and Eason’s drama became so intense that it was no longer beneficial to film her.
Fans assumed that things would blow over and that Evans would be welcomed back once she announced her separation from Eason. That doesn’t seem to be the case. MTV was asked about Evans’ potential return, and it’s a big “no” from the studio. They offered E! News the same canned response they issued months ago. They said, “…we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019, and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”
Jenelle reportedly feels like MTV strung her along
Evans insists that she feels strung along by MTV, according to insiders. She has long suggested that her fate with MTV was up in the air and that she was never fired. It would seem as though Evans is telling a half-truth. While she was officially wiped from the filming schedule, she was still under contract with the network. That doesn’t mean anyone was taking her calls, though.
Herbert Wilkinson, who briefly dated Evans during her split from Eason, opened up about her on Instagram recently. Wilkinson, who had nothing nice to say about Evans, noted that she did talk about Teen Mom 2 during their brief encounter. He stated that she told him no one was taking her calls.
Could 2020 be Evans’ rebirth?
It’s been a minute since Evans graced the small screen, but it looks like she is considering 2020 the year of her rebirth. At least, it appears as though she’s planning to resurrect her career. She claims that there are several networks interested in working with her, but they can’t until her contract with MTV is officially up. The deal ends in April.
Whether or not that is true remains to be seen. Evans has told a few fibs about potential offers in the past. In fact, she once insisted that Netflix was interested in working with her, although Netflix had an entirely different spin. The streaming giant said they never had a deal in the works for Evans, and didn’t consider her a viable possibility moving forward. Fans will just need to wait until April to find out what is going to happen with her now floundering TV career.
