‘Teen Mom 2’: Jenelle Evans Spins a Different Narrative About David Eason Shooting the Family Dog — Fans Don’t Buy It
While Teen Mom 2 Season 10 premiered on MTV on Sept. 1, 2020, Janelle Evans took the opportunity to share a YouTube with David Eason the day prior. The network severed ties with Evans after her husband, Eason, shot the family dog. Now, she’s speaking out about the incident, but fans don’t buy her spinning a different narrative.
Jenelle Evans’ husband, David Eason admitted to killing the family dog
On May 1, 2019, TMZ reported that Eason had shot the family’s French bulldog, Nugget.
“He just took her and shot her in the woods, about two acres away from the house,” Evans told Us Weekly.
Eason shared a video of the dog snapping at 2-year-old Ensley as she went to kiss it.
“I don’t give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face,” Eason defended his decision. “Whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog, and I don’t put up with that sh*t at all.”
There were reports that Evans fled from the house after Eason killed their dog. She also shared a picture with Nugget, indicating that she wasn’t happy with his decision.
“Nugget… I’m crying every day,” the caption began. “I love you so much, and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless.” Then she added, “You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons.”
Jenelle Evans defends David Eason in new YouTube video
“Within the next few episodes, I’m going to explain the corruption, distress, drama introduced to my family by CPS of May 2019,” Evans begins the video. “I am doing this to explain the truth despite all the media reports made.”
Then the video switches to her husband, and he talks about the family dog, Nugget.
“About Nugget,” Eason explains what happened from his point of view. “She was a loving dog to me, but she was not loving towards our kids at all. She would bite their feet. She would bite the wheels on their bicycle. She wasn’t always vicious, but she had a lot of vicious tendencies. She really was kind of mean. We put up with it for a long time.”
Eason goes on to say that he grew up with family members shooting dogs who bit people. He believes that the incident with Nugget was something familiar that happens all the time. Then the video switches back to Evans, who details the trauma she faced when CPS took her children away, following the incident with Eason killing the dog.
Viewers of the YouTube video worry about Evans’ children
“It’s so sad that she defends him and his behavior,” one viewer wrote in the video’s comments. “Your children and their safety ALWAYS come first.”
Fans who watched Janelle Evans’ 47-minute video still cannot understand why she defends her husband.
“It’s both sad and scary you trying to downplay that the only issue all kids mentioned is David’s anger,” added another viewer. “Being petrified of their stepdad is a pretty big deal.”
“Telling a slightly different narrative doesn’t change what actually happened,” one viewer points out.
