‘Teen Mom 2’: Kailyn Lowry Opens up About ‘Toxic’ Relationship With Chris Lopez ‘Where Domestic Violence Is There’

Kailyn Lowry has always had a difficult relationship with Chris Lopez, the father of her two youngest children. In an episode of Teen Mom 2, she opened up more about the nature of their dynamic.

Teen Mom fans may remember the ultrasound Lopez’s aunt posted on social media that clued people into the fact that Lowry was pregnant again. The reality star spoke about the incident in the episode.

“Chris’s aunt decided to post a photo of my ultrasound on social media, which obviously went viral,” she said. “I haven’t really said anything publicly about it. I’m pregnant.”

She also told cameras that she and Lopez were not on good terms.

“I have not talked to Chris, I don’t talk to him,” she said. “He has been in and out of jail. I think what has transpired over the last few months between Chris and I has just been so eye-opening.”

Lowry has said before that her relationship with Lopez was toxic. She’s also called him a narcissist. But she has never really gotten into specifics. She elaborated a bit more on her relationship with Lopez in the Teen Mom 2 episode.

“I know that people will have a ton of questions and are wondering how I could have gone back to someone like that,” Lowry shared, crying. “I think there’s a lot to be said that I haven’t really talked about in a relationship where domestic violence is there and where it’s just really toxic. I’m still trying to figure that stuff out.”

At the time, Lowry didn’t intend to involve Lopez in her pregnancy or Creed’s birth.

“As of right now, I have no intentions of including Chris in anything, and so going into this [pregnancy] knowing that he won’t be there at all is really scary,” she said. But, as fans know, Lowry ended up inviting Lopez to the birth of Creed, and even gave their newborn his last name.

“I think I let certain people into my life knowing that they were toxic and I ignored a lot of red flags, and I think I let them stay too long to the point where I lost myself,” Lowry continued.

While Lowry never goes into much detail about her relationship with Lopez, she has mentioned the toxic nature of their dynamic before.

According to In Touch, Lowry said Lopez admitted to intentionally getting her pregnant.

“Circumstances surrounding conception are not up for discussion,” she said.

Around the same time, she told Us Weekly, “Legally, I’m not able to go into detail. Domestic violence and narcissism are very real subjects, and when I’m in the place to be able to offer advice, I will.”
