‘Teen Mom 2’: Kailyn Lowry Says ‘the Truth [About Her Relationship With Javi Marroquin] Revealed Itself in Time’

Just after Kailyn Lowry said in an episode of Teen Mom 2 that her ex-husband, Javi Marroquin, attempted to have sex with her when he was with Lauren Comeau, the reality star is reflecting on their time together in a recent episode of her podcast, Coffee Convos. Despite everything, she says she doesn’t “hate him” and ultimately wishes him “the best.”

“I have a weird, unspoken loyalty to him that I have not figured out yet and I would always wish the best for him,” said Lowry of Marroquin. The two were married in 2012 and finalized their divorce in 2017. Together, they share one son, 6-year-old Lincoln.

The reality star reflected back on when they got divorced.

“Like, when we were getting divorced and stuff, I let him tell whatever he felt like he wanted to tell, whatever he wanted to film about, whatever he made up in his own head, I let him talk about it and drag me through the mud and I never defended myself ever,” she said.

Partially, Lowry says she didn’t want to speak up because she didn’t want to cause any more drama than there already was.

“I think part of it was like when Jo [Rivera] and I split, it was so messy and just a disaster and it didn’t get us anywhere, and then 10 years later we’re fine and I’m close with Vee [Rivera] and it was fine,” she said.

Additionally, Lowry felt like everybody had already made up their minds about her.

“No matter how much I defended myself, people were gonna believe what they wanted to believe anyway,” she said.

Lowry says her ex’s “great image” at the time automatically put a lot of people on Marroquin’s side. But, eventually, she feels “the truth came out.”

“It really did,” she said. “I feel like the truth revealed itself in time. It took a long time.”

Lowry also mentioned the time she and Marroquin spent on Marriage Boot Camp where the former couple took a lie detector test. Lowry admitted to cheating on Marroquin and Marroquin denied being unfaithful to Lowry. But the test read his statement as untrue.

“I feel like in my heart of hearts that the truth really did reveal itself,” she said. “But even still, I think that everyone makes mistakes and I don’t hold any of those things against him now.”
