Why Kailyn Lowry considered getting an abortion

In an interview Lowry did with The Domenick Nati Show on Aug. 31, the reality star spoke about why she considered getting an abortion when she learned she was pregnant again.

“I just had a really hard time processing the fact that I was 27 years old and I felt like I made the same mistake I made when I was 16,” she told Nati. “Just like not being careful, not taking care of myself. And just having myself in a worse position than I had been in when I was 16 to be perfectly honest with you. It was just not a good situation.”

Lowry says she “went back and forth” with the decision for a while and was “really depressed.” She wanted to make the right choice for her family.

“I just couldn’t figure out what would be best, not only for myself but for my kids,” she said. “I wanted to make the best decision for my children. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to parent my three children the way that I needed to if I brought this other life into the picture.”

Why Kailyn Lowry changed her mind

Lowry made the appointment to get an abortion, but when she got there she changed her mind.

“I got there and said, ‘I need to see the baby on the screen. I want to see the ultrasound,'” she said. “Because that’s what they do, I guess, when you get an abortion. And I said, ‘I need to see how I feel.'”

That’s when Lowry knew she wanted to have her fourth child.

“When I looked at it, that’s all I needed to know in order to make the decision not to get it. So that’s for me. I’m not going to judge anyone who decides otherwise. But, for me, when I saw that life on the screen I said, ‘I can’t do this.’ And it was in that moment that I decided I was gonna keep my baby,” she shared.

Despite her initial worries, Lowry says she’s “been able to parent [her] three kids” and “be the best mom [she] can be” even with the addition of Creed.

“For me, right now, I just don’t think that I could personally put myself or my kids through that again,” she said. “So I decided to keep him. And I think it was the best decision for us and for my family. My kids absolutely adore their baby brother.”
