‘Teen Mom’: Mackenzie McKee Opens up About Cheating on Josh
As Teen Mom OG fans know, Mackenzie McKee and Josh McKee are getting divorced. They’ve had a contentious relationship for years, and now they’ve finally decided their lives would be better apart.
As of now, Mackenzie says the papers have still not been signed. But the former couple is no longer wearing their wedding rings. Additionally, if Josh “wants to go be with someone, then he has the freedom to go do that.”
When Mackenzie cheated on Josh
While the focus is often on Josh for cheating on Mackenzie, Mackenzie admits to being unfaithful, too. In fact, the reality TV star told Domenick Nati on The Domenick Nati Show that she cheated first.
Mackenzie said she was in a separate relationship while she was married to Josh for months.
“It was a relationship. So, I guess we cheated in completely different ways,” she said.
When Josh cheated, it was a drunken one-night stand. Mackenzie says her bout of unfaithfulness lasted much longer.
“It wasn’t worth it,” she said.
The Teen Mom star is appreciative Josh hasn’t ever tried to ruin her reputation online or on the show by bringing up her cheating.
“Right now, it’s Josh is a cheater, Josh is a cheater, Josh is a cheater. And I think he could have easily, on the show or on the internet, said ‘Mackenzie’s a cheater, Mackenzie’s a cheater. Here’s the proof. Here’s what happened.’ I think he could have easily said that and he didn’t,” she said.
Mackenzie and Josh McKee are getting divorced
Mackenzie admits that she and Josh currently have a unique dynamic. Though they’re in the midst of trying to figure out their divorce, they’re “getting along better than ever.”
“If I could go through a divorce with anyone in this world it would be Josh. I know that is the weirdest thing that I could ever say. But when it came to the end and we kind of had to look at each other and say, ‘We destroyed this marriage together.’ And I had to take full accountability for doing just as much as he destroyed the marriage,” she said.
Mackenzie says she and Josh spend almost every day together, but “if I get in a relationship and he gets in a relationship, we’re gonna have to respect that.”
At the end of the day, Mackenzie says she was tired of feeling like she was chasing Josh.
“I truly believe you shouldn’t chase after or stress about anything because if it’s meant to be it’s gonna happen. If it’s not meant to be with me and Josh then we’re gonna go through a smooth, peaceful divorce,” she said.
So far, Mackenzie says Josh has been nothing but cordial. She says he wants her and the kids to be “taken care of,” and that he’ll be the one to “start over.”
