‘Teen Mom OG’: How Much Each Cast Member Has Made and Who’s Worth the Most
Ever since their 16 and Pregnant days, the ladies of Teen Mom OG have shared with viewers so many aspects of their lives and with that there’s been no shortage of drama.
Being that some of the original teen moms have become household names you may have wondered what they actually earn for filming the MTV series. Here’s the answer to that, plus how much the most famous teen mom is worth.
Amber Portwood
Amber Portwood’s finances came to light back in 2011 when she had to list her earnings in court documents. She was paid $140,000 per six-month contract, or $280,000 a year, to film her scenes in 2011.
Every year after that the women received annual raises and in 2017, Radar Online reported that Portwood and her castmates were making $25,000 per episode or $325,000 a season. However, according to Blasting News, they make closer to $500,000 per season.
They are also paid $1,000 for the reunion specials and any after shows they do.
Maci Bookout
Despite that salary, Maci Bookout was candid about being a reality TV star in her 2015 memoir Bulletproof and claimed that she still pretty much leads the same life she did before she was on TV.
“Reality TV can make you very famous, but you basically get the s**t end of the deal: Everyone knows your name and talks about you, but there’s no red-carpet prestige or glamorous piles of money,” she wrote. “Once you become a so-called reality TV star, people immediately think you’re a high-end celebrity and you travel the world and have a mansion and so much money and all these other things they associate with having your face on television. The fact is, my real life isn’t that much different from what it would have been without MTV. I still live in Chattanooga and go to Wal-Mart and buy bread and milk.”
Catelynn Lowell
With that hefty salary Catelynn Lowell and her husband, Tyler Baltierra, have enough to fund rehab stints for multiple family members, buy new cars, and renovate a farmhouse in Michigan. The couple also launched an online clothing boutique using the money they made from the show.
In addition, Lowell and Baltierra reportedly banked $100,000 for starring in VH1′ Couple’s Therapy.
Farrah Abraham
It was announced that Farrah Abraham is no longer part of the series that first introduced her to the world but she has already raked in plenty of dough and has by far the highest net worth of the TMOG stars. In 2018, several media outlets reported that Farrah Abraham’s net worth is estimated to be between $3 million and $6 million.
She infamously made a sex tape in 2013 and according to Celebrity Net Worth sold it for $1.5 million. The site noted that at one point Abraham was making $60,000 per month in royalties from the tape. Abraham has been paid for her appearances in several other reality shows over the years as well including Single AF, Celebrity Big Brother, and Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition.
More recently she signed on for MTV’s Ex On The Beach. A source claimed that Abraham made $300,000 to do the show, which took 11 days to film. That would mean she was paid more than $27,000 a day for that show.
