Who Is Tennis Player and Heiress Jessica Pegula’s Husband, Taylor Gahagen?
If you’re a fan of tennis then you know the name Jessica Pegula. She turned professional in 2013 and has since competed in various tournaments. She’s won five singles titles and seven doubles titles on the WTA Tour. Jessica is also an heiress whose family is one of the richest in the U.S. worth more than $7 billion.
In 2024, Jessica competed in the Paris Olympic Games. Her presence on that world stage had fans wanting to learn all about her off the court.

Who are Jessica Pegula’s parents?
Jessica Pegula was born in Buffalo, New York, to Kim and Terry Pegula who are the owners of the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres. They purchased the NHL team in 2011 and the football team in 2014.
Jessica has four siblings, two of whom are from her father’s first marriage. Her mother is Korean. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, and orphaned when she was a child before she was adopted by Ralph and Marilyn Kerr and brought to the United States.
In February 2023, Jessica wrote an article in The Players Tribune about her mother, who had been facing “unexpected health issues” for months. She revealed that while Kim was asleep, she suffered cardiac arrest. Jessica’s sister, Kelly, “saved her life” by performing CPR.
“They figured out what was wrong, they fixed it,” Jessica said of her mom’s medical team. She concluded the piece by thanking the Buffalo community for all the love and support her family received.
When Jessica Pegula and Taylor Gahagen tied the knot
Jessica and Gahagen were first linked in 2015 after they were photographed at a party together. The tennis pro and Williamsville, New York, native dated for years before getting engaged in 2019. They had planned to get married the following year but those plans were halted because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“We were supposed to get married in October last year,” Jessica told the Tennis.com Podcast in 2021. “We postponed it a year … It’s fine, it worked out!”
The pair said “I do” on Oct. 23, 2021, in Asheville, North Carolina, at the famed Biltmore estate. Not only did Pegula and Gahagen have to postpone their wedding but they had to do the same with their honeymoon due to the tennis star’s busy schedule. However, after playing in Wimbledon in 2022, they went to Costa Rica.
Pegula later gushed about their honeymoon telling WTA: “It was amazing, it was so much fun. We want to go back so bad. It was just the best experience. The people, the food, the lifestyle was so much fun.”
What Gahagen does for a living
Gahagen attended Williamsville North High School, where he was friends with classmate and former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski. After graduation, he enrolled in SUNY Fredonia. He graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and later earned his MBA from Canisius College.
From 2013 to 2023, he worked for Jessica’s parents’ company, Pegula Sports and Entertainment, as a marketing manager, digital and promotions coordinator, and director of corporate development.
Gahagen now serves as a vice president at Legends Global Merchandise. He’s also the vice president of Jessica’s skincare line, Ready 24, and the co-founder of A Lending Paw, a foundation that trains rescue dogs to become service animals for people in need.
