Teresa Giudice Says Joe Blamed Her and Filming ‘RHONJ’ for His Bankruptcy Case
It looks like Teresa and Joe Giudice’s marriage is over. The messy parts of their separation was filmed on Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ). The housewife revealed he blamed her and the show for their situation.
Joe Giudice was in prison then deported due to his bankruptcy case
Joe was sentenced to 41 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud charges in 2014. He was later taken into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.
That’s because the husband was born in Saronno, Italy. He never became an American citizen. He was there from March to October 2019. He then left for Italy while he waits for the decision regarding his latest appeal, according to NJ.com.
He and Teresa Giudice have separated
The former couple separated and a mysterious source was quoted by People about the situation. “They discussed their future when Teresa and the girls went to Italy in early November and they agreed that each had to move on. They are doing so amicably and very slowly,” the insider told People at the end of 2019.
Joe reportedly started moving on with his love life. “Joe has been out on a few dates, Teresa has not,” claimed the source. “She has been too busy with the girls, with work obligations and taking care of her father. She is happy for Joe.”
The source continued, “They have been very friendly with one another and are very supportive of each other’s happiness. They still love one another, but as Teresa told Andy Cohen on the WWHL special, they are separated by the Atlantic Ocean. Neither is interested in a long distance relationship.”
She said Joe blamed ‘RHONJ’ for his case
This season showed Teresa and Joe talking about the early stages of their marriage. Teresa said there is a clause in the prenup when it comes to cheating.
“I didn’t even read it, I just said, ‘I want you to put one thing in there. If you ever cheat, the prenup goes void,’” she said on the show. Joe responded by saying he never wanted to get married.
The third part of the RHONJ reunion had Cohen questioning the reality star about the fallout from their cases. He asked her how much money she paid for Joe’s legal fees and back taxes.
“A lot,” she answered. The host asked if it was over $1 million and she answered yes. He then asked if Joe ever thanked her. “Yeah,” she said but she made it known there would be backhanded compliments with it. Teresa claimed he said, “If it wasn’t for the show none of this would have ever happened.”
Dolores Catania then chimed in on the situation. “He almost feels like she owes him,” she said. Melissa Gorga then said, “He looks at it like ‘No, you ruined my life.'”
Cohen asked if she thinks Joe will ask for spousal support. Teresa said, “I don’t think so. Joe’s not that type.” However, Catania thinks he might ask for it. Teresa has yet to file for divorce.
