The 3 Other Web-Slingers Most Likely to Join the MCU Alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
When it comes to individuals granted with Spidey-like abilities in the Marvel landscape, Peter Parker has received the most cinematic attention; however, he is one of many saviors who come to represent Marvel’s Spider-beings. There are multiple Spider-Men and Spider-Women in the Marvel comics; however, some seem more likely to join Tom Holland in live-action MCU installments. Below, please find the three characters who — based on insider leaks and narrative plausibilities gained from previous films — are most likely to fight beside Peter Parker, and or become his successor at some point in the MCU.
1. Spider-Gwen
Though Gwen Stacy has yet to appear in the MCU’s Spidey tales, she was previously portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man saga, and then Emma Stone took a swing in The Amazing Spider-Man series. However, mixed critical and audience reception surrounding the character may have been the reason Kevin Feige hesitated to bring this character back.
When Feige introduces Stacy, he may wish to make the character a bit more significant. Marvel Inside Mikey Sutton shared his latest intel on the matter, explaining that a solo installment may be in the cards for Spider-Gwen. He wrote:
She is incredibly popular, especially with young girls. In fact, her massive following crosses gender and age groups. Marvel Studios wants more than just Stacy to play a supporting role in their Spider-Man movies. They want to produce and release a Spider-Gwen movie, have it fully set in the MCU, teaming the character with various Young Avengers. No casting has begun for Stacy yet. Discussions for this project have just started.

While Spider-Gwen may join Parker in the MCU, she may face some fierce competition from other web-slingers. Miles Morales may have been a cartoon in Into the Spider-Verse, but evidence suggests his fully human counterpart may make an MCU debut.
2. Miles Morales
In Spider-Man: Homecoming, one scene seems to confirm that Miles Morales already exists in the MCU. Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis — a small-time criminal and burglar who goes by the alias Prowler — explains that he needs to protect his nephew during an interrogation with Parker.
In the comics, Prowler’s nephew is Miles Morales, and Kevin Feige later confirmed that Miles Morales does indeed exist somewhere in the MCU during a press conference, as Screen Rant notes. Thus, it’s clear that those over at Marvel did not just happen to throw this tidbit in without a future purpose.
3. Jessica Drew’s Spider-Woman
Jessica Drew isn’t exactly a web-slinger, but she is one of the most famous Spider-Women out there; her powers are just a bit different from the others. Drew can produce powerful electric shocks from her hands, is resistant to radiation and poison, and she can release mind-altering pheromones. She gained her powers in the womb when her mother was struck with spider-radiation during her pregnancy.
According to We Got This Covered, Sony wants a Spider-Woman franchise in the Sony Universe of Marvel Characters (SUMC), and the studio has its eyes set on Jessica Drew. If the relationship between Sony and Disney remains amicable, Disney could throw Jessica Drew into its mix, allowing Sony to introduce the character and provide the relevant backstory pre-mash-up.
