Clayton is from Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette. The 28-year-old medical sales representative is from Eureka, Missouri. He also went to school at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and he played football for Mizzou.
Meanwhile, Clayton wasn’t exactly a fan-favorite during Michelle’s season of The Bachelorette. He faded into the background early on. But the next bachelor made it through to the top 8. However, Michelle realized that she wasn’t ready to take Clayton to Hometowns. So the two broke up.
‘The Bachelor’ 2022 promo trailer reveals 2 first for Clayton Echard
In a new promo for The Bachelor Season 26 in 2022, ABC teases Clayton’s dramatic journey from start to finish. The preview opens with the 28-year-old lead stepping out of the limo at The Bachelor Mansion, and he touches on his Midwest roots. Then a few cast members gush over how handsome and ready-for-marriage Clayton is.
But suddenly, The Bachelor promo jumps straight into drama in what looks like the premiere. Clayton says the first rose he gave out as the new bachelor was “rejected.”
“Has anyone ever taken a rose back before?” Clayton asks someone offscreen.
Then The Bachelor trailer jumps to the end of Clayton’s season, and the next lead reveals he’s “in love” with his final three women. The previous season preview dropped more clues about who makes it to the end. But regardless, it seems like Clayton will be “broken” by his experience, and he is seen crying at the end of the new teaser.
Reality Steve’s spoilers on who rejects Clayton Echard’s first rose in ‘The Bachelor’ 2022
For now, Bachelor Nation fans must wait and see what happens to Clayton when his season starts on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. But franchise blogger Reality Steve already shared some major spoilers about season 26, including who allegedly rejects Clayton’s first rose in the premiere.
According to Reality Steve in December 2021, cast member Salley Carson was engaged right before the show, and production found out about the situation once headshots of the contestants were released to the public. The spoiler guru also claimed that Salley is the one who chose to leave the show early on.
“So Salley never made it to night 1,” Reality Steve wrote on Twitter on Dec. 15. “Once this all got out the day of the headshots being released, Salley was asked by production if she still wanted to do the show and she said no.”
In a separate tweet, he added, “Clayton was probably informed of this and went to talk to her in her hotel room pre-show, which is why the promo last night had him saying the first rose of his season was rejected. He’s referring to Salley choosing not to be cast for the show.”
