What happened in the premiere of ‘The Bachelor’ 2022 with Clayton Echard?
As with any premiere in The Bachelor franchise, drama unfolded very quickly. In fact, the first rose Clayton offered was rejected. That’s right. Salley Carson, who was set to be one of the lucky women competing for Clayton’s heart, had a change of heart. Salley’s newly ended engagement caused her to rethink her decision to come on the show, and despite Clayton’s offer of a rose before even the very first Rose Ceremony, she chose to leave.
Salley wasn’t the only contestant to leave before the first Rose Ceremony, either. Another one of Clayton’s suitresses, Claire Heilig, tried to entice Clayton with a tailgating setup. When another woman wanted to steal him away for some one-on-one time, Claire became angry. She marched back into the house and declared she “hated Clayton.” Not long after that, Clayton pulled her to the side, and she quietly left the mansion.
Clayton connected with a few women in the house and shared kisses with them before the Rose Ceremony. Rachel thought she might walk away with the First Impression Rose, but Clayton had other plans. That rose went to Teddi Wright.
