What ‘The Bachelor’ Contestant, Alayah Benavidez Is Doing Now After Being Accused of Lying to Be on the Show
Move over, Hannah Brown! There is a new woman that has put Peter Weber in a tough spot on The Bachelor. That would be Alayah Benavidez, and she was accused of lying to be a contestant. Find out what happened and what she is doing now.
Alayah Benavidez was accused of lying on ‘The Bachelor’
The beauty queen was accused of being fake and “putting on” for the cameras by Sydney Hightower on The Bachelor. This really worried Weber and he talked to multiple ladies to figure out if it was true.
It later came out that Alayah and Victoria Paul knew each other before the season started. This isn’t surprising given Victoria P. was Miss Louisiana.
However, Alayah was worried about their connection and Victoria P. claimed she asked her to lie about it. “It’s difficult for me to be in this position, but I know she asked me to not tell producers that we knew each other … Looking back, she did ask me to lie and that’s not who I am,” she told Weber.
Weber confronted Alayah about this. He ended up not giving her a rose at the rose ceremony but regretted it.

She has been traveling
The contestant is from Texas, but she has left the Lone Star State recently. She posted pictures in Richmond on Instagram, Virginia recently.
One of those pictures were of her in an orange gown. She captioned it with, “Any excuse to play dress up… and I’m in!
I had the best weekend exploring Virginia and seeing @courtney_lynne12 and @c_cranshaw pass on their titles last night I love y’all so much.
Now… back home to my Titan baby .”
Those titles are in reference to Miss VA USA and Miss District of Columbia USA. She also has been busy with work.
She has been modeling
The former Miss Texas USA has been busy modeling. She shared some of her work on Instagram. Her photos range from being styled like a bride to posing in what looks like lingerie.
She also is an owner of Three Bees Boutique, which every purchase helps fund literacy initiatives.
She tweeted defending herself
It’s not surprising that many fans of The Bachelor turned on Alayah during the episode where she was accused of being fake. She has defended herself on Twitter.
“Just a reminder to everyone… There is about 1,200 hours of footage from Bachelor filming. In total you’re seeing maybe 20 hours this whole season. theres [sic] a lot you don’t see,” she tweeted. Chances are she’ll have more to say during the next episode given the preview shows that she returns.
She showed support for her friend
The former pageant queen also recently shared a post with her friend, Taylor Leigh Kessler on Instagram. That’s because Kessler got the title of Miss Texas USA 2020.
Alayah wrote in the caption, “You guys may not know this but Taylor and I have been competing together for years, our first year competing at Miss Texas we were actually roommates! We have always said “how cool would it be if one day we crowned eachother [sic]?” And last night it happened!!
Congratulations my beautiful friend, you are so deserving and I cannot wait to follow your year and cheer you on at Miss USA.”
It looks like the contestant has been busy with pageant life. She also is working through her business and modeling.
