Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison lavished love on the woman who “made sure I could chase my dreams” in a new social media post. Harrison has largely stayed off social media since his exit from the ABC reality dating series since he announced his exit from the franchise. However, this moment was clearly important enough for the television personality to share with his 1.3 million Instagram followers, who, in turn, showed their appreciation for his over-the-top display of love.

Chris Harrison has stayed out of the public eye since departing ‘The Bachelor’ franchise

Harrison and ABC mutually decided that he would exit as the face of The Bachelor franchise in May of this year.

The former television series host initially took a leave in March 2021, after he appeared to defend former Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell against her participation in racist imagery. In January, a Reddit user shared a photo of Kirkconnell dressed in costume as a Native American. She reportedly attended a Kappa Alpha Order Old South ball, where she and other women wore antebellum-style dresses.

On Feb. 10, 2021, Chris and former Bachelorette lead Rachel Lindsay discussed the topic on an episode of the celebrity news series Extra. Harrison claimed that while the photos did not shine the best light on the contestant, he stood by his comments that, over time, perspectives can change on certain things. Shortly thereafter, Harrison shared a statement on Instagram where he apologized for his remarks.

In June of this year, Harrison would once again take to social media to announce he and the show had parted ways. He said, “I’ve had a truly incredible run as host of The Bachelor franchise, and now I’m excited to start a new chapter.”

Harrison posted an image alongside his mother, Mary Beth, as seen above. The two, dressed casually in shorts, stood in front of a brand new car.

The gorgeous red truck was a gift to Harrison’s mother for the way she “spent her life making sure I could chase my dreams. A true example of strength, love, grace, compassion, humor, faith & so much more.” He ended his caption by writing, “Love you, mom.”

Harrison’s followers appeared happy to see their favorite host as Harrison has only shared three social media photographs since his Bachelor departure. The first was a photograph alongside longtime girlfriend Lauren Zima. The second, a snap of daughter Taylor as she headed off to college. The third was the image of Harrison alongside his mother.

They shared their remarks in the comments section of the post.

“Are you sure that’s your mother? She could be your sister. She looks amazing. Happy birthday” wrote one follower.

“Miss you, Chris Harrison. Much love and happiness to you and Lauren and your family. You are a good man,” claimed a second fan.

“Love you, Chris. So great to see you. Miss you, I’m boycotting the whole Bachelor franchise, glad you moved on so eloquently,” noted a third social media user.

Harrison has not yet announced his next media project. His former series, Bachelor in Paradise, airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
