‘The Bachelor’: Colton Underwood Returns to Instagram With a Message for Fans After Cassie Randolph Drama
2020 wasn’t the best year for most people, but Colton Underwood had an especially rocky ride. First, the Bachelor star came down with coronavirus (COVID-19), and then shortly after he recovered, he and Cassie Randolph called it quits. Amid all of the accusations of Underwood stalking Randolph post-breakup, he took a break from Instagram. Now, he has returned.
Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph’s relationship
Underwood and Randolph met on Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. At the time, Underwood was so infatuated with his future girlfriend that he chose her before the final rose ceremony. Randolph tried to leave the show but Underwood chased after her and managed to get her to agree to date him.
After the show, the two did not get engaged or move in together, opting to take things slow.
Colton and Cassie’s breakup and stalking accusations
At the beginning of this year, it seemed like Underwood and Randolph were closer than ever as her family nursed him back to health after he tested positive for COVID. But shortly after he got better, the two broke up.
“It’s been a crazy few months to say the least, Cass and I have been doing a lot of self-reflecting,” Underwood wrote on Instagram, announcing the split. “Sometimes people are just meant to be friends – and that’s OK. We both have grown immensely and been through so much together – so this isn’t the end of our story, it’s the start of a whole new chapter for us.”
The breakup was hard enough for Bachelor fans to take, but then sources told Entertainment Tonight that Randolph started getting strange text messages from an unknown number and reported finding a tracking device on her car.
According to the sources, when Randolph confronted Underwood about the messages and tracking device, he allegedly admitted to “everything.” Randolph was then granted a temporary restraining order which meant that Underwood had to stay 100 yards away from her, her job, and her house.
In a November statement, Underwood revealed that he and Randolph were able to come to an agreement outside of court.
“Today Cassie asked the court to dismiss the temporary restraining order against me,” the statement read. “The two of us were able to reach a private agreement to address any of Cassie’s concerns. I do not believe Cassie did anything wrong in filing for the restraining orders and also believe she acted in good faith. I appreciate everyone’s respect for privacy regarding this matter.”
Colton Underwood is back on Instagram
After using his Instagram to defend himself against the allegations and tell his side of the story, Underwood went silent. He deleted all of his Instagram posts and got off of the site for two months.
Yesterday, he returned with an Instagram story. He posted a series of pictures from his Christmas holiday, including a Christmas tree, his family playing games together, and pictures of him snowboarding. Over the course of the stories he wrote, “Hope everyone had a great holiday! Mine was spent with family. Missed y’all.”
Underwood has yet to upload anything directly to his Instagram feed.
