Why did Cassie Randolph file for a restraining order from Colton Randolph?

The Bachelor couple announced their breakup to the public on May 29, 2020, and it seemed amicable. They both told fans that they wanted to remain friends. However, since that time, new information has been revealed.

Randolph was granted a temporary restraining order from Underwood for “stalking and harassing her with unsettling text messages.” The court documents, obtained by TMZ, also reveal that the reality TV star allegedly attached a tracking device to the graduate student’s car to keep track of her.

She also claims that Underwood sent anonymous messages to her and himself pretending to be a stalker victim. Randolph reports that he later admitted to sending the messages and planting the tracking device. A judge signed off on the request that orders Underwood to stay at least 100 yards away from Randolph.

‘The Bachelor’ fans discovered an old interview with Underwood

When Cassie Randolph left Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, fans thought things were over between the couple. However, the reality TV Star instead jumped a fence and quit the show entirely because he was in love with the graduate student. He pursued her although she had broken up with him.

“I was willing to give up everything for her,” Underwood told Build in an interview after the season.

The interviewer asks the couple whether the audience would have viewed what Underwood did differently if the roles were reversed. He answers this question around minute 13.

“In my opinion, society would have viewed a woman chasing after a guy as a clinger — as sort of stalkerish,” the former football player responds. “For me, everybody is like ‘that’s sort of romantic.’ I do see your point. I do. I’m not a stalker, I promise. I had a good gut feeling that it was there.”

Fans point out that the red flags were there on Underwood’s season of ‘The Bachelor’

“Wow! Again, I’ve been saying since day one,” one Bachelor fan wrote on Reddit about Colton Underwood. “The irrational response and fence jump was a major RED FLAG. Not ‘romantic’ at all!”

Other viewers agree that although the fence jump was unique, it foreshadowed what was to come.
