‘The Bachelor’: Did Matt James’ Early Favorite Sarah Trott Ever Date G-Eazy?

Those who’ve been keeping up with Matt James’ season of The Bachelor are already quite familiar with Sarah Trott. Trott caught James’ eye early on during night one, and they already had a one-on-one date that went quite well. But it seems this isn’t Trott’s first time in the spotlight

It’s been reported that Trott was spotted with rapper G-Eazy. So, did the two ever date? Here’s what we know.

Trott’s starting the season off strong by creating an early connection with James. Us Weekly reminds us Trott told James that her dad has ALS, so she quit her job and moved back home to care for him.

It seems she and James are on the same page when it comes to their faith. “One thing that is very important to Sarah is finding a man whose commitment to faith is as strong as hers,” her bio reads. “She hopes to one day be in a power couple that when they’re not spending time with their kids, they are doing work for the community and giving back to children in need.”

While James and Trott seem to be going strong from the start, Bachelor host Chris Harrison warned there may be trouble in paradise. “Sometimes … those that get that early attention, those that have that really initial, bright spark, it’s hard to continue that because obviously the Bachelor/Bachelorette then has to go elsewhere,” Harrison noted. “They have to compartmentalize these relationships and that makes it really tough when you have that initial burst of energy.”

Before Trott started getting noticed from The Bachelor, it seems she was also associated with a music star. Cosmopolitan reports Trott was spotted at Delilah nightclub in West Hollywood, California, back in March 2020. It seems she was celebrating a friend’s birthday while there — and she was then referred to as the “mystery woman” leaving with G-Eazy.

So, did Trott and G-Eazy ever date? While we can’t say for sure, it seems unlikely. Considering the club sighting wasn’t too long ago and Trott is now vying for love on The Bachelor, it’s more likely she met the rapper at the club and didn’t carry on with a relationship from there. And she seems quite genuine when it comes to finding love with James, so we’ll have to wait and see how their relationship pans out.

G-Eazy is now dating Ashley Benson

As for G-Eazy, his reputation isn’t as squeaky clean as Trott’s. He’s dated plenty of other musicians and is now with Ashley Benson. Benson and G-Eazy first got together just weeks after Benson split from model and actor Cara Delevingne in May 2020, Us Weekly reports.

It seems their relationship is moving quite fast, too. “They’re definitely having fun and doing well,” an insider told Us Weekly in November 2020. “They’re super comfortable with each other and have bonded a ton during the quarantine.”

It seems they’re already sparking engagement rumors, too. Benson was spotted wearing a diamond ring while grocery shopping, which had everyone wondering just how serious she was getting with G-Eazy. So far, it doesn’t look like the couple’s engaged quite yet — but things seem to be headed in that direction.

Given the two timelines between Trott and Benson, it seems G-Eazy was seen with Trott just a few months prior to his relationship with Benson. This also likely confirms the theory that Trott and G-Eazy never actually dated.

The Bachelor airs Monday nights on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
