The last episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! is airing Juan Pablo Galavis’ season, but the lead won’t provide an update. In the past installments, the former stars chat with host Chris Harrison and update him on their life since the show, so why isn’t Galavis joining tonight?
Is Juan Pablo Galavis from ‘The Bachelor’ Season 18 still married?
Many people remember Clare Crawley telling The Bachelor lead Galavis off for whispering an obscenity in her ear. The franchise replays the clip often since Crawley is leading her The Bachelorette Season 16. However, not everyone remembers what happened with his final rose choice, Nikki Ferrell.
Although Ferrell and Galavis were engaged during the final rose ceremony, the relationship did not last long. The couple went on the reality TV series, Couples Therapy, shortly after The Bachelor ended to work on some issues. However, the VH1 show did not help. The two broke up in October 2014.
In 2016, Galavis moved on when he began dating the Venezuelan model and TV host Osmariel Villalobos. The couple was married in a private ceremony in 2017, and all seemed to be going well. However, the two split only two years later. Villalobos announced on Instagram in 2019 that the couple had gotten a divorce.
Why isn’t Juan Pablo Galavis appearing on his ‘The Bachelor’ GOAT episode?
In a recent interview, Juan Pablo Galavis revealed that he was asked to make an appearance on Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette.
“She wanted to make peace with me,” the retired soccer player told Life & Style. “I’m not sure if that was her or producers trying to get me back on the show. But, if it was her, that was nice.”
Although the producers extended the invitation, it doesn’t sound like Galavis is interested. He was also invited to join Bachelor in Paradise again.
“I told them that [creator] Mike Fleiss’ check had to be very big in order for me to go, and I had to approve the editing. So, I guess they didn’t like the conditions, LOL.”
Since Galavis is far from a fan-favorite lead, he likely does not want the negative publicity of joining the show. So, if there isn’t a financial reason to update, it doesn’t sound like Galavis thinks it’s worth it.
Do ‘The Bachelor’ contestants and leads get paid to go on the show?
Contestants vying for the lead’s heart do not get paid anything to appear on the show. However, if you are one of the lucky ones chosen to be a star on the show, you can negotiate your salary.
Typically the lead receives $100,000 to star on the show, according to Insider. However, Emily Maynard was rumored to have made $250,000 for her season.
The real money generally comes in after the show when the leads and contestants make celebrity appearances on talk shows. They also generate a large enough following on social media to become influencers and partner with companies to promote their businesses.
