‘The Bachelor’: Kaitlyn Bristowe Asked Hannah Ann Sluss if She Felt Manipulated to Fall in Love With Peter Weber
Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor was a total disaster, and he’ll forever go down in reality TV history for what occurred. While Weber proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss in the end, his lingering feelings for Madison Prewett and hopes of gaining closure with Hannah Brown appeared to ruin everything. And Sluss has gone on to explain her side of the story to multiple outlets since the public breakup
Now, Sluss is talking to former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe about everything she’s gone through. And Bristowe asked Sluss if Sluss felt like she was manipulated into falling in love with Weber. Here’s what Sluss said regarding her true feelings about her ex.
Hannah Ann Sluss noted she was ‘miserable’ with Peter Weber
Sluss was ecstatic when Weber proposed to her on the show — but it didn’t take long for the relationship to totally fall apart. During the After the Final Rose ceremony, Sluss noted that her relationship with Weber involved “three women,” as Prewett and Brown were still on his mind. And she later admitted on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast that she felt completely miserable in her engagement.
“Gosh, I was miserable with him,” Sluss noted. “Once January started because of the whole wishy-washyness started. And I was just like, ‘I need someone who knows who they are, who knows what they want, who’s not going to be with someone just because their mom told them to.’”
Sluss still appears to be shading Weber’s behavior, too. Not only has she “liked” tweets that condemn Weber, but she also told Bristowe that he was “bland.”
Sluss told Kaitlyn Bristowe moving out to Los Angeles was a great ‘first step’ forward
Sluss has been posting her tips and tricks for moving on from a difficult breakup to her Instagram. And she’s also sharing how she’s doing now with Bristowe on Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast. Those who follow Sluss know she made a seriously brave move to Los Angeles prior to the coronavirus (COVID-19) scare. And Sluss mentioned to Bristowe that she thinks it was an excellent step in the right direction.
“I was flown out. I said, I’m packing two suitcases, and right after the show, I moved into my apartment,” Sluss noted — though, of course, the move hasn’t been easy. Sluss had a roommate she never met prior, and she was quarantined just days after making her big move. But she’s still happy she did it.
“This isn’t really exactly where I thought life would be, but it’s where it’s at. Let’s just keep it moving forward,” Sluss added. “Moving out here was a great first step to a new beginning.”
Bristowe asked Sluss if she felt manipulated by producers
Being on The Bachelor can be a tricky situation for both the lead and the competitors to navigate. And Bristowe asked Sluss a tough question about feeling manipulated by producers. Bristowe noted that she thought she was in love with Bachelor Chris Soules — but after all was said and done, she didn’t necessarily feel that way.
“For me, personally, when I was on The Bachelor, I thought I was in love,” Bristowe told Sluss. “I hate to use the word ‘manipulated.’ But you are a little bit manipulated because it’s a show they’re making. It didn’t take me long to realize that no, that’s not my person …. Do you truly feel like you were in love with this man and wanted to marry him?”
Sluss said the initial breakup with Weber was really difficult to get past. But in the last few weeks, she’s seen the light. She said she’s not going to “discredit” her feelings, but she knows it wouldn’t have worked.
“I stand by, I was in love with him,” Sluss notes. “But seeing him and just seeing where my life is at, and more of the woman I have become, I do think that there’s someone that’s way more compatible for me. … I don’t think we’re a fit.”
It seems Sluss’ feelings were very real, but even true love doesn’t always conquer all. We’re wishing Sluss the best — and we hope she can find someone new to share her life with soon!
