‘The Bachelor’: Kit Keenan Reveals She Thinks Matt James ‘Is a Pretty Cringey Guy’
Though fans have gotten used to The Bachelor, the way the show is set up is still pretty strange. Over 30 women are supposed to come into a house and fight to marry a man that they have never met. With Matt James’ season, the women at least knew whose heart they would be competing for before entering the house. But as with every season, there is a huge chance that the women won’t actually like the lead once they get to know him. Kit Keenan recently went on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast and revealed her true feelings about Matt.
Kit Keenan on ‘The Bachelor’
Before Kit even graced our tv screens, her presence on the show was already being widely promoted as she is the daughter of fashion designer Cynthia Rowley and interior designer Bill Keenan.
“Kit’s going to be very interesting. I can’t wait to see how you all respond to Kit,” Chris Harrison said of Kit in a YouTube video in December. “Kit was born and raised in the West Village of New York City. So think Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City vibe. … Kit had boxes and boxes of dresses and outfits shipped to where we were shooting the show. Easily the best dressed. Maybe the best-dressed woman we’ve ever had.”
Kit’s time on The Bachelor has recently turned around as she just had her first one-on-one date and got a bit closer with Matt. But before that, she got off to a rocky start when she was involved in bullying Sarah Trott, who ultimately sent herself home.
After the episode aired, Kit took to Instagram to apologize for being so harsh to Sarah, who left the show to care for her dying father.
“I believe what unfolded last night was an outcome of a lack of communication,” she wrote on her Instagram stories.” I had no idea what was going on with Sarah’s family or in her personal life. Rather than hearing her out, I spoke quickly out of frustration and that was unacceptable. I know that the time for compassion was in the moment and not in hindsight, but I want to apologize to Sarah & anyone whose feelings were hurt by my words.”
How does Kit Keenan feel about Matt James?
On her one-on-one date with Matt, Kit and Matt talked about their future together and what it would be like. Before the end of the date, Kit even told Matt that she was falling in love with him. He didn’t return the sentiment.
On the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Kit elaborated on her feelings.
“In previous relationships, I get the ick real quick,” she said. “Once the relationship goes into, like, ’OK, this could be something very serious,’ usually I run for the hills.”
However, this didn’t happen with Matt.
“Matt’s a pretty cringey guy, he does a lot of goofy stuff,” she said. “At the point where I saw him wipeout skateboarding, I was like, ‘Wow, you are still so hot to me.’”
When hosts Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin pressed Kit on what love meant to her, she described more things about Matt.
“There are only metaphors to explain that,” she said. “I think for me, it’s like, you love every part of that person. The cringey parts, the amazing parts that make Matt a one-of-a-kind human being.”
