‘The Bachelor’ Peter Weber Was ‘Shocked’ Hannah Brown Didn’t Return for His Finale
Bachelor Nation’s Peter Weber and Hannah Brown have come a long way since that four-times-in-a-windmill moment in The Bachelorette Season 15. Both parties recently spilled more tea about their dating history and time together. Then Weber revealed he was actually “shocked” when Brown didn’t return for The Bachelor Season 24 finale — here’s what Pilot Pete shared.
Who are Hannah Brown and Peter Weber from ‘The Bachelorette’ and ‘The Bachelor’?
In case you need a refresher, Brown and Weber met in The Bachelorette Season 15. Pilot Pete made it through to the final three. Meanwhile, Brown split with final pick Jed Wyatt and closed the chapter on runner-up Tyler Cameron. Then Weber became the next bachelor for season 24, and Brown returned on limo night to give Pilot Pete his wings back.
Later, Brown made her second appearance on Weber’s season to host a group date. But old feelings started to resurface behind-the-scenes, and Weber even told Brown he would quit the show for her. However, the two went separate ways, and Weber seemed to move on with the show.
In The Bachelor finale, Weber got engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss. But the two broke up shortly after the show started airing on ABC in January 2020. Sluss also claimed that Weber reached out to Brown a week before their split. Meanwhile, Weber and runner-up Madison Prewett revealed they still had feelings for each other during the live finale on March 10. They announced their breakup two days later.
Why Peter Weber thought Hannah Brown would come back for his ‘Bachelor’ finale
In the Nov. 18 episode of the Bachelors in the City podcast, Weber opened up about Brown’s return in The Bachelor Season 24. While filming the premiere, Pilot Pete thought the bachelorette was coming to the mansion to give their relationship another shot. He also noted their emotional conversation during the group date “never really ended the way either of us wanted it to end” because they “ran out of time,” and producers told them to wrap it up.
Meanwhile, Weber and Brown didn’t have any communication as The Bachelor continued filming. But even so, the lead was stuck on his ex. Weber allegedly thought the producers were going to bring Brown back for his finale because they knew how he felt about the lead. However, things didn’t end as he expected.
“One of the producers had told me they were in contact [with Brown] while my season was going,” Weber said. “This is getting into the finale, and I think he had brought it up to her about possibly coming out. I don’t think that she was onboard with it, if I remember correctly.”
“But I kept thinking, ‘They’re gonna bring her back. They’re gonna bring her back. They know how I felt. … They’re gonna make this very dramatic and very difficult on me. I know they’re gonna do it.’ They ended up not doing it,” the former bachelor continued. “I was a little shocked. And I think she just didn’t think it was the right thing to do. So the show then ends, and my relationship from the show ends like everyone saw.”
What happened to Peter Weber and Hannah Brown and who are they dating now?
Weber was still thinking about Brown at the end of his journey in The Bachelor Season 24. But it seems the two eventually closed the chapter on each other. In Brown’s upcoming book, God Bless This Mess, the former bachelorette revealed she hooked up with Weber after Dylan Barbour and Hannah Godwin’s engagement party in February 2020. However, Brown admitted that the “chemistry just wasn’t there” with Weber anymore.
Meanwhile, Weber confirmed Brown’s claims during the Bachelors in the City podcast.
“We spent the night with each other. That was it. That was the last time that I saw her physically,” he said. “Then shortly after, it was the last time we texted.”
Now, Brown is dating Adam Woolard. Weber also reconnected with fifth runner-up Kelley Flanagan in April 2020, and they split on New Year’s Eve.
