‘The Bachelor’: Peter Weber Says His Injury Was Like A ‘Murder Scene’
The Bachelor is back, and this season has fan-favorite Peter Weber back on the franchise. The pilot is famous from Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette — the two shared a steamy night together in a windmill that went down in Bachelor nation history. Now, Hannah Brown is coming back, and Peter Weber is the one calling the shots.
But, there have been some hiccups. Most notably, Peter Weber injured himself pretty badly while filming the show, and wound up with a pretty mighty scar as a result.
The golf cart incident
Peter Weber underwent some physical trauma on while filming the latest season of The Bachelor. The love-seeking pilot cut his forehead open while in a golf cart, and wound up requiring medical attention.
At the time, Chris Harrison wrote on Instagram, “There’s been some wild claims and rumors about Peter today. Peter suffered a freak accident. He got a cut on his head, he did get stitches but he’s 100% OK and production is already back underway. He’s still the dashing, handsome pilot we’ve all dreamed of.”
While Chris Harrison reassured fans, Peter Weber claims he wasn’t feeling so good about it all. He told Entertainment Tonight, “There was a ton of blood. It looked like a murder scene when it happened. It just started pouring out. My forehead was literally split open.”
At the time, Peter Weber was fueled by adrenaline. He told the publication, “I was kind of, like, dazed. I didn’t feel it at all, to be honest. My endorphins were just, like, firing, and everyone just rushes over and puts their hand on it. I ended up finding out later on how bad it was. I’ve seen the first picture and I was like, ‘Oh my god. I’ll never look the same again. The plastic surgeon, he took care of me. He did a good job.”
In a somewhat gruesome detail, Weber added, “I could feel the plastic surgeon pulling my skin over to stitch it up.”
Peter Weber on his new scar
However, Peter Weber has been keeping his chin up despite the injury. He told Entertainment Tonight, “It kind of does play a role in a little bit later on in the season. I’m not gonna spoil it, but it’s actually kind of cool. The girls took care of me. They definitely kind of felt bad about it, but I wasn’t gonna let this slow down my journey to find what I really wanted and it’s all good. I got a battle scar now.”
Chris Harrison told Entertainment Tonight that Peter Weber was very concerned about ruining the show — seemingly more so than with his own well-being.
Harrison told ET, “He’s such a gamer. This is why I love Peter — he immediately was apologetic about [the injury] and he felt so bad that he messed up the show and ruined our lives and ruined the franchise,” Harrison said. “He was such a sweet and sincere loving guy. He’s a team player and he wanted to help us out.”
Hannah Brown returns
While Peter Weber has had to deal with golf cart trauma on his season of The Bachelor, it sounds like there could be some emotional challenges ahead as well. Hannah Brown will be returning on his season — the same Bachelorette who cut him loose last time.
Weber says his feelings for Hannah Brown were real, and that seeing her again caused them to resurface.
Weber told People, “Even though it didn’t work out with us on The Bachelorette, obviously that relationship still meant a lot to us. You are going to see just how much it meant to us when you watch the episode.”
