The Bachelor Peter Weber, also known as Pilot Pete, got his start on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. While Brown broke his heart, he got his shot at being the lead, though his season proved messy. Now, he’s known for his on-and-off relationship with Kelley Flanagan, though he may be steeped in additional controversy due to an outing at a New York City bar. Why did ‘The Bachelor’ Peter Weber move to New York City?

Bachelor Peter Weber has quite a controversial past with the reality TV franchise, but he looked forward to moving to New York City. He and Kelley planned on moving to the Big Apple together, though they split in December 2020, thwarting their plan. Even so, Pilot Pete decided he’d take matters into his own hands and move there anyway.

So, why did Peter want to move to New York? “I had actually made it a goal of mine when I turned 20 that I wanted to live in New York City before my 20s were up and I’m just barely crossing it off the list!” the 29-year-old shared with his social media followers, according to E! News. At the time, he also mentioned he was “grateful” Kelley was on board, though the two have since broken up.

Despite the split, it looks like Kelley planned on moving to New York City as well. “I’ll be in the Florida Keys until March then still making the move to New York!” she wrote to Instagram on Jan. 10, 2021. “… In the meantime, I am trying to figure out my future living situation in New York (searching for a roommate and apartment), spending time with my friends and family, and focusing on my career!”

It looks like Bachelor Peter is making the most of his adventures in New York. On Feb. 18, he posted a photo of him and his dog on a plane to his new home. And Dustin Kendrick, another Bachelorette alum, is his roommate.

While the two reality stars are enjoying their time, it sounds like they’re also hitting the town. The Bachelor Party podcast hosts talked about fans allegedly spotting Pilot Pete out at a crowded bar in the city.

“Side note — I saw an Instagram of Peter in a very crowded bar in New York, and it’s fine,” the host noted. “Do whatever you want, Peter. Get Covid or don’t. I think he already had it, so whatever. But I was just like, where is this bar? What is this bar that’s crowded?”

The host then went on to reiterate that the bar was “crowded” and certainly not at “25% capacity.”

“Those types of people find their ways to each other, those types of people who don’t care,” Bachelorette alum Rachel Lindsay added.

“Peter lives with Dustin, so it was Peter and Dustin together,” the host added.

While Bachelor Peter’s behavior in New York is certainly turning heads, many are also wondering what’s going on with him and Kelley. While the two aren’t officially back together, they are going to be in the same city quite soon. And they’re reportedly working on their relationship.

“They looked happy and we’re having fun drinking and dancing together and with their friends,” a source revealed in February 2021, according to E! News. “Peter and Kelley knew they were both planning to be in Tampa for the Super Bowl and had plans to meet up. They have been in touch and are working on their relationship.” The source also noted Pilot Pete “regrets their breakup.”

It’s unclear exactly where the two stand, as Peter’s gained a reputation for being wishy-washy about his relationships. But it looks like the two are moving in a positive direction while in New York.
