There were moments on this season of The Bachelor where it seemed like women might decide to go home. No one has left on their own yet but Peter Weber had to do a lot of apologizing. Now he’s revealing something he told the contestants about leaving. Find out what he told them and his reaction to backlash.

The ladies turned on Peter Weber on ‘The Bachelor’

The reality star didn’t always have the ladies swooning over him. Many were angry because of his decisions.

His most controversial decision was giving a rose to Alayah Benavidez even though she wasn’t technically in the competition. She was already eliminated but came back to clear her name. The beauty queen was successful, and that meant ladies who were on the date didn’t get a rose.

“I’m sorry, Peter,” Deandra Kanu told him. “I’ve never felt so under-recognized by somebody. And for us who went on the group date, who busted out a** out there on the football field, and literally have the physical bruises to show, and then for you to come to the cocktail party and ignore us… and then walk in hand-in-hand with Alayah. It was like the biggest slap in the face. I couldn’t even look at you.”

He sent Alayah home again after it was obvious the other ladies weren’t happy.

Weber said he gives himself grace

Contestants weren’t the only ones angry at Weber. Fans also voiced their frustration over this. But Weber said he forgives himself for his mistakes.

“I can understand being indecisive, because dating 30 women is not easy and that will never be easy and no one is prepared for that,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “So, I totally give myself grace for being indecisive in a moment that’s so confusing and so tough and it’s kind of rushed. You have deadlines, you have to let go of people, and that I’m OK with.”

He went on to say that situations were hard given he didn’t always have all the information. “I’m not gonna say I feel like it was hidden from me, but I will fully accept and own that, yeah, there were a lot of moments where I was indecisive,” he said. “But again, I give myself all the grace in the world ’cause it’s a tough situation to be in.”

He told women they didn’t have to be there

Weber talked more about the backlash for his decisions on the Viall Files. He said there is a reason for his indecision.

“It’s a lot harder watching this back for me. … It’s way harder than I ever thought it would be,” he pilot said. “I’m making decisions in the moment based off the information I have. I’m not making dumb decisions on purpose.”

There were times when multiple women voiced their anger about him being indecisive. He revealed something he told them.

The pilot said he “made it very clear that the women didn’t have to be there.”The reality star said, “If they didn’t want to be there, I didn’t want them there. I only want someone here that actually wants to pursue something with me.”

Fans will have to keep watching to find out how things play out. The ending of this season is still a mystery.
