‘The Bachelor’: The Real Reason Colton Underwood and Tia Booth Broke Up
It’s such a mature move to wish the best for your ex. That’s why fans are seriously loving the latest news from Tia Booth, 27, who showed support for her ex-boyfriend and former NFL player Colton Underwood via social media.
Underwood is gearing up for the premiere of The Bachelor Season 23, which is already generating tons of positive buzz. He’s the first virgin Bachelor in franchise history (Season 17’s Bachelor Sean Lowe was celibate from the age of 24 until marriage to winner Catherine Giudici, but not a virgin). This latest vote of confidence from Booth is just icing on the cake.

The Instagram post that started it all depicts the former couple hugging outside a gym, which just adds credibility to the idea that they’re still very friendly, even though they broke up. The caption said:

Even though they split up, clearly there’s no animosity or hurt feelings between either party. Not only is Booth totally fine with Underwood appearing on the show, she even hopes he finds love. Though Underwood hasn’t responded publicly, we can safely assume he feels the same for Booth.
How did Tia Booth meet Colton Underwood?
Bachelor fans surely remember the relationship well. Booth began dating Underwood, 26, after appearing on Season 22 of The Bachelor. Then things got a little awkward when Underwood went on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette and placed fourth. It was a little complicated since Underwood had applied to be on the show before meeting Booth and wasn’t even sure he’d get casted. Ultimately, he decided to pursue a relationship with Kurfin even though the two women were friends.
Then things got very tense when Booth made a surprise appearance on the show and admitted she still had feelings for her ex. He got sent home right after that, but Kurfin insisted it wasn’t because of the confession.
Booth and Underwood hooked up again during the most recent installment of Bachelor in Paradise and fans wondered if that was it. But shortly after, they broke up again for good.
Why did the couple break up?
Tia Booth alluded to the reason for their split in her Instagram post – the romantic compatibility was missing from their relationship, no matter how much they tried to make things work.
Right after they broke up, Colton Underwood had some kind words for Booth also, proving they both have love for each other even if it’s the platonic sort. He posted:
“Thank you for teaching me even more about myself, and most importantly, for your friendship that I know will continue far beyond Paradise,” he wrote alongside a photo from their hot dog date. “Don’t settle for anything less than the world, because that’s what you deserve. Can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you and catch up on life some day, preferably over a hot dog dinner.”

Now that Colton Underwood is focused on romancing a new group of gorgeous women, it’s unlikely he’s reflecting much on his past relationship. But at least he has the love and support of people from his past. Even ex-girlfriends who have every right to be jealous.
