‘The Bachelor’: Why Is Michelle Young Crying in the Promo for the Finale?
Matt James’ season of The Bachelor is coming to a close, and fans are more excited than ever to see who Matt chooses. It’s down to the final three women on the fantasy suites now. But after the promo shows contestant Michelle Young crying, everyone’s wondering what goes down. Here’s what we know.

Who are ‘The Bachelor’ finalists on Matt James’ season?
Three women are left on Matt James’ Bachelor season, and they’re all hopeful Matt will pick them in the end. Bri Springs is a fan favorite, and she noted on the show that she left her job in order to have this opportunity to fall in love with Matt.
“In all seriousness, everybody will really, I think, fall for Bri. Beauty, brains, unbelievably sincere,” Chris Harrison noted of Bri, according to Us Weekly. “Legit career, unbelievable woman, incredibly smart, obviously beautiful. … [She’s a] straight-shooter, will always tell it like it is, wears her heart on her sleeve.”
Michelle Young came to the season later than many of the other contestants, but she immediately captured Matt’s heart. As for what Michelle wants, it’s noted in her bio she wants a man who’s “supportive” and “driven.” It’s clear she thinks she found this in Matt.
Finally, Rachael Kirkconnell is the third woman to join Fantasy Suites week. While she and Matt established an early, strong connection, her legacy is now embroiled in drama. Old, racist photos resurfaced during the season, causing major controversy for both her and Matt.
Why is Michelle Young crying in the promo?
It looks like the end of Matt James’ Bachelor season is full of tears. As the women enter the Fantasy Suites week, Matt has a tough decision to make. And there are plenty of twists and turns along the way, including a surprise visit from his estranged father.
As for Michelle, it looks like she and Matt are growing their connection. In the beginning of the finale promo, she’s seen passionately kissing Matt. “I will tell you that I am in love with you,” she admits to him.
Unfortunately for Michelle, she’s not alone. Rachael also told Matt, “I’m head over heels for you.” And Bri echoed similar sentiments.
Finally, toward the end of the promo, Michelle is seen wiping tears from her eyes after Matt’s mom notes, “Love is not the end all be all.” As for why Michelle’s crying, Cinemablend notes Matt ultimately tells her he loves her, but he’s not in love with her. This ends in Michelle heading home. Matt then allegedly abruptly cancels his date with Rachael afterward to deal with the emotions of seeing his father and breaking up with Michelle.
Who does Matt James end up with on ‘The Bachelor’?
So, what happens at the end of Matt James’ Bachelor season? It looks like he chooses Rachael, but they don’t get engaged. Instead, they allegedly leave the show together as boyfriend and girlfriend and plan to continue to explore their relationship off-screen.
Now, it looks like Matt and Rachael are no longer together. And it looks like the racist online content of Rachael could be a driving factor as to why, though we may have to wait for the full story. Fans are also convinced Heather Martin, a contestant for just one night on the show, might now be dating Matt.
