‘The Bachelorette’: Becca Kufrin Fires Back at Leak That She and Garrett Yrigoyen Broke Up

Breakup rumors have followed Kufrin and Yrigoyen for the past several weeks. Many suspected problems in the relationship arose with Yrigoyen’s “Thin Blue Line” Instagram post in support of law enforcement amid the Black Lives Matter movement.
In a Bachelor Happy Hour podcast on June 16, Kufrin admitted that she did not know where things stood with her fiancé following his post.
“I want to say to our listeners out there — because I’m sure many will hear this back and wonder and ask and have opinions — for those who are curious about my relationship with Garrett at this point, all I can say right now is I don’t know,” Kufrin said. “I can’t give anything more than that. It’s something that we are trying to work through and discuss and do work on at home at this time and that’s where the work will remain and that’s really the best can give you at this point.”
A source revealed Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen broke up
In the report done by E! News, a source close to Kufrin and Yrigoyen allegedly leaked that the two broke up because of Yrigoyen’s post and their differing views.
“‘Becca is still very upset with Garrett’s comments and the controversy surrounding it… Their lifestyles don’t mesh anymore. Garrett wants different things and they came to a realization that they aren’t compatible anymore,'” the source told E! News.
The source continued, “‘Garrett is doing a backpacking trip in the wilderness with his buddies and is taking time for himself. They are trying to keep it low-key because they are still working things out, but the relationship is definitely done.'”
After E! News published the report on Instagram, Kufrin commented on the post and called out the publication and source.
“Lol interesting ‘source.’ I mean if nothing else, the least you could do is spell the names correctly and consistently in your article,” she wrote.
Fans analyzed her comment
On Reddit, fans of The Bachelorette discussed the article leak and Kufrin’s subsequent comment. Most interpreted Kufrin’s comment as anger over the leak, not a denial that she and Yrigoyen broke up.
“I think the ‘interesting source’ line is shade at Garrett or one of his circle of friends/family. Becca probably upset that E! decided to break the news (and disrespect Becca’s privacy) instead of she and Garrett announcing it together,” wrote a Reddit user.
“Considering neither one has made a post acknowledging today was the anniversary of their finale airing and they haven’t been together physically for like a month (? ) now , I 100% believe theyre done. I think Becca is upset that she didn’t get to make the announcement first,” another Reddit user agreed.
Fans also voiced that they feel bad for Kufrin not being able to disclose whatever happened in her relationship on her own timeline.
“This definitely should have been on her terms. I would be pissed if someone leaked it before I could comment myself on the situation,” a Reddit user wrote.
