‘The Bachelorette’: Did Jed Wyatt Just Take a Dig at Ex-Girlfriend Haley Stevens on Instagram?
Fans of The Bachelor shows are well-aware of what happened to Hannah Brown when she was the star of The Bachelorette. While she could’ve found lasting love with Peter Weber or Tyler Cameron, she chose Jed Wyatt in the end. Of course, this didn’t last long. According to Wyatt’s ex, he came on the show with a girlfriend back home already — and he was just winning Brown’s heart to advance his music career.
Now, Wyatt has a new girlfriend he’s totally in love with and flaunting all over Instagram. But it seems the caption of an Instagram post he added on Feb. 1, 2020, could be a dig against his ex who spoke out. Here’s what happened.
Jed Wyatt’s ex-girlfriend came forward after ‘The Bachelorette’
While Wyatt appeared to genuinely love Brown on the show, his ex-girlfriend, Haley Stevens, maintains that Wyatt claimed he was only going on the show for exposure. She also stated that she and Wyatt had a strong relationship prior to his appearance on The Bachelorette, and he promised after the show, they’d still be together. She even produced texts to back up her statements.
As Stevens told People back in June 2019, “He told me the show was just an obstacle and we’d be stronger on the other side because of it.”
Unfortunately, Stevens was totally blindsided by Wyatt’s actions. Upon his return from The Bachelorette, he ghosted her completely. They finally spoke weeks after his return when he approached her at a music festival.
“I’ve had the opportunity to take ownership for what I did wrong. I should have had a higher standard for the things I wanted,” Stevens added “And if I had known this would go so far, I would have said, this is unacceptable. This was supposed to be Hannah’s love story.”
Wyatt is posting about his new girlfriend to social media
We know Wyatt and Brown broke up shortly after Stevens’ statements broke. And now, it looks like Wyatt’s doing just fine moving on with a new woman. He’s posted about personal trainer and model Ellen Decker since Nov. 28, 2019, and he’s still adding photos of the two of them together well into 2020.
“Thanks @mastro_m for introducing me to the only person to make me smile more than riding a jetski,” Wyatt captioned his first post of him and Decker.
Wyatt’s gotten plenty of backlash from Brown’s fans, of course.
“Let’s hope you don’t lie to this poor girl too,” a follower commented on Wyatt’s post of him and Decker from Jan. 1.
“Wait so this is your 3rd gf within 1 year? Or is it the 4th or 5th,” another snarkily questioned.
He just talked about his ‘actual girlfriend’ on Instagram
Despite the hate, Wyatt is still posting plenty of photos with Decker. And the caption of his post on Feb. 1 references how he claims he never really dated Stevens.
“My actual girlfriend and I enjoy long walks on the beach, the concrete, the grass, the woods, the fields, and through Trader Joe’s. Where do you walk?” Wyatt captioned the post of him and Decker on the beach. It seems some of his followers think he’s calling Decker is “actual girlfriend” in response to everything Haley Stevens claimed.
As one follower commented, “oh my gosh are you still acting like you were never dating Haley? NO ONE CARES ANYMORE. just admit it or stop talking about it. literally everyone forgot. no one cares. enjoy your life and just live it up.”
“If you were mature and classy you wouldn’t even need to reference your past with a dig at all,” another noted. “You physically moved on…but I’m not convinced you’ve emotionally based on this.”
Yet another added, “why did u say actual girlfriend.”
To that comment, another added, “he claims Haley was never his actual girlfriend.”
And Wyatt wrote back, “yeah, she wasn’t.”
It seems Wyatt is quite happy with his “actual” girlfriend despite still getting dragged by some of his followers for his new relationship. We’re looking forward to hearing more about it as it progresses.
