‘The Bachelorette’: Kaitlyn Bristowe Says Katie Thurston’s Season Is ‘the Most Dramatic’ One Yet
Katie Thurston’s journey to find love on The Bachelorette is almost here, and thanks to Bachelor Nation’s Kaitlyn Bristowe, we already know that this season is going to be one for the books.
During an episode of her Off the Vine podcast, Bristowe opened up about the season ahead, admitting that the upcoming installment doesn’t lack any hard-hitting drama in the slightest.
When does ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 17 begin?
Katie Thurston’s Bachelorette season is finally upon us. After having her heart broken on The Bachelor, the marketing manager is on a mission to find love in the franchises upcoming installment, which premieres on June 7, 2021.
Those who have part of Bachelor Nation for a while might remember Thurston from Matt James’ Bachelor season. Viewers instantly took a liking to the Washington native for her sex-positive approach to dating and her adventurous personality. As the season went on, Thurston grew on fans more as many applauded her for standing up to bullying and being unapologetically herself.
To some, it seemed that Thurston had a chance to make it to the top three of James’ season. Unfortunately, her time on the show came to an end during Week 6 following a one-on-one date.
Katie Thurston’s season will be hosted by Bachelor alums Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams
Though she didn’t make it to the end of James’ season, Thurston’s journey to find love isn’t over yet.
Following the drama-filled Bachelor season, Thurston was named the franchise’s bachelorette along with fellow contestant Michelle Young.
Just like her time on the show, Thurston’s Bachelorette season will be memorable as it will be the first not led by host Chris Harrison. Instead, former bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will take over the hosting reins and support Thurston throughout her journey to find a husband.
“Chris Harrison will not be hosting the next season of The Bachelorette. We support Chris in the work that he is committed to doing. In his absence, former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will support the new Bachelorette through next season,” a statement announcing Adams and Bristowe’s hosting gig read. “As we continue the dialogue around achieving greater equity and inclusion within The Bachelor franchise, we are dedicated to improving the BIPOC representation of our crew, including among the executive producer ranks. These are important steps in effecting fundamental change so that our franchise is a celebration of love that is reflective of our world.”
Kaitlyn Bristowe says Katie Thurston’s season is dramatic
Leading up to Thurston’s Bachelorette season, Bristowe teased about the upcoming installment on several occasions.
In May 2021, she told HollywoodLife that the men competing for Thurston’s heart are a “really great group of guys.”
“I say that, but I could watch it back and go, ‘OH!’ I wasn’t living there with them,” she said. “But they all seem like really stand-up gentlemen.”
A month prior, the franchise’s former leading lady hinted at what’s to come in the upcoming season on her Off the Vine podcast.
“I think it’s going to be really fun. Tayshia and I had a really, really fun time being there. We love Katie,” Bristowe said, per E! News. “I don’t want to get in trouble, but maybe I can say it’s the most dramatic season yet? We had a really great time.”
From the promos alone, it seems that Bachelor Nation is in for a treat.
The Bachelorette Season 17 premieres Monday, June 7, 2021, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
