Marcus Shoberg allegedly tried to get back together with his exes while applying for ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 21

Jenn Tran fell in love with Marcus Shoberg in The Bachelorette Season 21. They connected early with their first one-on-one date, and she gave him another one-on-one date as the season started to come to a close. Unfortunately, Jenn and Marcus hit a few road bumps as their relationship progressed. Jenn told Marcus she was in love, and he struggled to reciprocate the feelings. Nevertheless, he accepted every rose until The Bachelorette Season 21 finale.

Marcus has received heat online for his alleged bad behavior before agreeing to join the show. An insider told Life & Style that he was calling his exes while applying.

“Right before going on the show, he called [his most recent ex] to say, ‘I miss you; I love you, but I don’t know what to do because right now. I’m applying for The Bachelorette. But I am not sure anymore now that I’m talking to you,’” the insider alleged. “He implied that they should get back together.”

“All of his recent exes also recently got in touch, and he was calling them at the exact same time, all while he was applying for the show,” the insider continued.

Yet another source told Life & Style that Marcus said he was not “ready for anything serious” before going on the show. “There’s no way he is there to get married,” they added. “If he wasn’t ready a week before filming, what would make him ready now?”

“He is not a good guy, and it’s a shame that Jenn had to unknowingly be subjected to him,” an insider claimed.

“Not everyone goes on the show for love, and Marcus is not there for love,” another source said. “He’s there for admiration and maybe even [wanted] to be the next Bachelor.”

The second source added that the producers felt “charmed” by Marcus and his story of being a military veteran, which helped him get cast.

Who does Jenn Tran choose during ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 21 finale?

In The Bachelorette Season 21 finale, Jenn Tran struggles with her decision. Finale clips show Jenn distraught as she has to choose between Marcus Shoberg and Devin Strader. While Jenn knows Devin loves her and wants to get engaged, Marcus remains unsure of where he stands regarding an engagement.

According to spoilers from Reality Steve, Jenn chooses Devin. Devin gets down on one knee for Jenn, and they leave the show engaged. However, that’s not the end of their story. New spoilers note that Devin breaks up with Jenn post-filming, which fans will likely see during the finale episode.

“I do not know why he ended [the engagement] with her,” Reality Steve posted. “I can’t imagine him looking good in any of this because this is a guy that essentially love-bombed Jenn from hometown dates on. He clearly had no problem telling Jen over and over again how much he loved her, how much he was in love with her.”

The Bachelorette Season 21 finale airs on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
