Bachelor Nation met Mike Johnson on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. Right away he was categorized as the nice guy with an infectious smile. As the season progressed and fans got to know him better and better, those characterizations only became more prominent.

After The Bachelorette, Johnson found himself on Bachelor in Paradise where he had trouble forming a love connection. He went home without a partner and became a prospect for The Bachelor. When he was passed over for Peter Weber, much of Bachelor Nation was sorely disappointed.

So what does Johnson’s love life look like now?

Mike Johnson and Demi Lovato

While Brown’s season of The Bachelorette was airing, Johnson found himself a fan in none other than Demi Lovato. Lovato would write things like “I’M RIGHT HERE MIKE I’M RIGHT HERE BOO MY MOM ALREADY LOVES YOU TOO” to Johnson on Twitter. So they started messaging and hanging out.

“I think she’s amazing. She’s incredibly humble,” Johnson said on the Bachelor Happy Hour With Rachel & Ali podcast. “When Demi and I are together, it’s laughter and we talk about real sh*t. Like, she’s a down-to-earth woman and I respect it so much. And she’s just a really humble, really cool, really fun, down-to-earth person.”

In the end, things didn’t work out between Johnson and Lovato.

Currently, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer is engaged to actor Max Ehrich.

Mike Johnson is single and knows what he wants

Since his brief stint with Lovato, Johnson hasn’t really flirted with or dated anyone in the public eye. In an interview he did with Distractify in Aug., The Bachelorette alum said that he’s currently single and knows exactly what he wants in a partner.

“I’m looking for someone who wants to experience more than what they know of life to be,” he told the publication. “Someone who is curious. Someone who is funny. Someone who can teach me.”

The site also asked Johnson if we can ever expect to see him on reality TV again looking for love.

“I’m single, so I don’t know what the future holds,” he replied. “I would say Carpe Diem, but it’s not something that’s pressing. I think I found my calling with what I’ve learned from my experience in the Air Force, being deployed, doing a tour, and being on reality TV. I just want to give back to everyone on how to love themselves more.”
