‘The Bachelorette’s New Promo Resembles a ‘Young and the Restless’ Intro
The long-awaited reality TV show, The Bachelorette, is finally airing this fall with lead Clare Crawley. ABC is rapidly sharing teasers to their social media accounts to get fans excited about the premiere. The latest trailer resembles a Young and the Restless intro.
When will ‘The Bachelorette Season’ 16 premiere?
Typically, The Bachelorette premieres in mid-May; however, filming for Crawley’s season was postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. She did not meet her contestants until mid-July 2020, so the timeline was pushed back.
The fall programming for ABC on Monday nights typically features Dancing with the Stars in the 8 p.m. slot, so the network had to change the night The Bachelorette airs.
This fall, the reality dating show will air on Tuesdays instead of the usual Bachelor Mondays.
Along with several new teasers for the season, ABC announced the premiere date as Oct. 13, 2020.
“The wait is over,” the promotion reads on Instagram.
However, the teaser’s comments show that many fans are upset they still have six weeks until the premiere of the show.

“You think you know me?” lead Clare Crawley asks in the promo. “I’ve been down this road before. I want respect.”
As the teaser rolls, Keke Palmer belts out a cover of Aretha Franklin’s “Respect.” The reception of the promo is generally favorable.
“This looks like a Young and the Restless intro,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “And I’m here for it.”
Other fans add comments about how “gorgeous” Crawley looks, kicking around rose petals like a boss.
“Maybe faith in [the producers of The Bachelor] has been restored,” another fan wrote about the teaser. “I was seriously upset when I saw the rip off of some old movie promo with Clare. I thought they were dissing Clare and short-changing us. This makes me excited to watch Clare’s mini-season!!!”
Crawley’s previous image included a photo of a leg across the poster — similar to the 1967 film, The Graduate. However, fans complained that the producers compared Crawley to a woman who seduces a younger man.
Keke Palmer sends advice to Clare Crawley about her upcoming season
Palmer was excited and nervous about recording the cover of Aretha Franklin’s famous song.
“To me, respect means people respecting my boundaries and appreciating me, treating me right, the loved ones in my life,” Palmer told Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t even know how to explain it, but I feel like respect is self-value, self-esteem, how you see yourself in the world, and how you deserve to be treated.”
The talk show host had a bit of advice for Crawley.
“I’m not a love guru, but I would just say to have fun,” the actress told the outlet. “No matter what the outcome is, it was a lesson, and just make sure you enjoy the ride.”
