Tayshia Adams sent Ben Smith home on ‘The Bachelorette‘
Adams clearly had strong feelings for Hall, Clark, Morais, and Smith. While Smith had been open about his mental health leading up to Hometowns, he still had not professed his love for Adams.
After his date with Adams, Smith still did not express his feelings in the way Adams needed. Because of this, she decided to eliminate him from the show. The two sat down to talk after the breakup, and Smith told Adams that he was heartbroken but would be “all right.”
Despite his assurances, Adams appeared frustrated by Smith’s behavior.
“He wasn’t angry. He wasn’t mad. He wasn’t sad,” she said after Smith left. “It kinda felt empty, and I just felt like, ‘Please make me feel like these past few weeks meant anything to you.'”
Rachel Lindsay thinks Ben Smith is like Peter Kraus
Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette aired in 2017. She ended the season engaged to Bryan Abasolo, and the two married in 2019. Kraus was Lindsay’s runner-up on the show.
On Dec. 16, Lindsay and Becca Kufrin published a new episode of their podcast Bachelor Happy Hour. In the episode, Lindsay compared Smith to Kraus.
“He does just enough to stay by,” Lindsay said. “He reminds me of Peter Kraus… He reminds me of him in the way that, like, he gives you just enough. But if you really break down what he’s saying, it doesn’t match up. And so, it’s like, ‘I don’t believe you. Like, I’m into you. I like you. I feel it, but there’s something that I can’t explain that’s not adding up here.'”
Rachel Lindsay does not want Ben Smith to be the next Bachelor
Lindsay also feels that Smith wants to be the next Bachelor after Matt James’ season airs in 2021.
“Ben 1,000 percent wants to be the Bachelor,” Lindsay said on Bachelor Happy Hour.
However, Lindsay does not think Smith is the best choice for the role.
“I beg producers, please don’t do it. We’ve been here before with the person who is so desperate to be the lead. It never works out,” she said. “When they want it so badly, when they’ve been planning for it, calculated, made certain moves to get to that point, and then you give it to them, it always messes up. There are so many great men from the Clare/Tayshia season. Don’t pick him. I don’t want to see it.”
