‘The Bachelorette’: Reality Steve Reveals Season 17 Will No Longer Film in Canada
With Season 16 of The Bachelorette over, Matt James‘ season of The Bachelor began airing on ABC. Season 16 of ‘The Bachelorette’ ended in December 2020
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Season 16 of The Bachelorette was delayed for multiple months. Instead of filming in early 2020, the show delayed until the summer of that year, and production was isolated at La Quinta Resort & Club for the entirety of filming.
Originally, Clare Crawley was set to star as the sole lead of the reality dating show, and the season began airing in October 2020. However, Crawley and contestant Dale Moss were engaged by the fourth episode. The two announced their breakup in January 2021.
As a result of Crawley leaving the show, Tayshia Adams was brought in as a replacement lead with the remaining men and four new contestants. Adams’ season finished airing on Dec. 22, 2020, and Adams ended her season engaged to contestant Zac Clark.
Reality Steve updated fans about filming for Season 17 of ‘The Bachelorette’
Steve Carbone, known to Bachelor Nation as Reality Steve, frequently spoils seasons of the popular franchise. On Jan. 26, Reality Steve disclosed that Season 17 of The Bachelorette could film in Canada.
“(SPOILER) Early speculation already in my DMs is that the resort for ‘Bachelorette’ filming in Canada next season might be at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta,” the blogger tweeted.
However, on Feb. 2, Reality Steve reported that The Bachelorette can no longer film in Canada because of new coronavirus restrictions.
“(UPDATE): Due to the updated quarantine restrictions in Canada laid out last week, I’ve been told ‘Bachelorette’ will NOT be filming there next season anymore. Resorts in the US now being looked at, but they are definitely still looking at colder weather locations,” tweeted Reality Steve.
Reality Steve predicted the next lead of ‘The Bachelorette’
In a Jan. 27 blog post, Reality Steve predicted which contestants from James’ season could lead The Bachelorette. However, the blogger is not sure that the lead will be from Season 25 of The Bachelor.
“I know people want to know who the next ‘Bachelorette’ is, but I haven’t heard anything… All we do know from Robert Mills is it will be someone from the franchise. Doesn’t guarantee it’ll be one of Matt’s girls, doesn’t mean it won’t,” he wrote.
If the next Bachelorette is selected from James’ season, Reality Steve thinks contestants Bri Springs, Abigail Heringer, and Katie Thurston are the most likely options.
“I gotta believe Bri, Abigail, and Katie are certainly contenders from this season, but I have no idea if they’ve started talking to them. Then you can never rule out someone from a past season, whoever that may be. As I hear things I’ll let you know,” Reality Steve assured fans.
