Rumors were swirling that Katie chose one specific contestant, and he shut down all the speculation. Fans thought that Katie Thurston chose contestant John Hersey on ‘The Bachelorette’ for this reason
Katie posted an Instagram photo on May 13 of her at Duke’s La Jolla in San Diego. That restaurant is also the spot where her contestant, John Hersey, works, per an unverified LinkedIn account. Fans immediately drew the connection and guessed that Katie ended up with John on the end of her season.
But the reality is — Katie is a smart lead. She had grown a following on TikTok long before she was even on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor. And she was reportedly a fan of the show prior to going on. It’s more than likely she’s playing with fans on her social media to throw everyone off on who she actually chose in the end.
Plus, Reality Steve shot down Katie choosing John on The Bachelorette for this specific reason.
Reality Steve clarified Katie Thurston spoilers for ‘The Bachelorette’ and revealed John Hersey’s fate
Reality Steve had previously predicted that John was in the Final 4 of Katie’s season of The Bachelorette. But he is now coming forward to say that he was wrong about that — and why.
“I was 99% sure that John Hersey was [in Katie’s final 4],” Reality Steve wrote on his website. “Katie posted on her social media a weekend she spent in San Diego with friends from Bachelor Nation, and I started receiving emails that one of the places she tagged she visited, Duke’s in La Jolla, was where John Hersey worked as a bartender.”
The blogger continued: “This led to even more people telling me that they were 100% convinced that John is who Katie chose, they’re engaged, and that’s why she went to that restaurant. I never mentioned it until now because that story wasn’t based in anything other than speculation and it never made sense to me.”
“Well, I can report now there’s nothing to it,” he claimed. “Why? Because I’ve learned that I was wrong about John making final 4. He didn’t. He didn’t even make Top 8. So all the people who emailed me telling me there’s a ton of people convinced Katie’s with John, sorry, but that’s not the case. He’s not in her Top 4, let alone her top 8.”

The blogger has not yet revealed who Katie’s actual final pick is. But one thing he’s for sure about — it’s not John.
