‘The Bachelorette’ Season 14: Everything We Know About Jason Tartick
Jason Tartick didn’t start out on Season 14 of The Bachelorette as a fan favorite. In fact, he was deemed “forgettable” once Bachelorette Becca Kufrin literally forgot his name on a group date. However, Tartick has redeemed his reputation in the hearts of Kufrin and seemingly all of Bachelor Nation.
He’s genuine, smart, hilarious, and an all-around good guy. That’s why watching his departure from The Bachelorette was emotional for everyone involved. Here’s everything we know about Kufrin’s now ex-contestant, Tartick.
He’s from Buffalo, but lives in Seattle
Tartick has made it clear that he’s proud to be from Buffalo, New York. On top of his Instagram bio reading, “Hopeful Buffalo Bills fan singing & dancing since ‘88,” we actually got to see him return to his roots during his hometown date on the show.
As if we haven’t already fallen for Jason, seeing him in his element was even more special. After taking his Bachelorette around town by eating buffalo wings, showing off his ice hockey skills, and introducing her to his family, he topped off the date by telling Kufrin he loves her.
While we’ll never look at Buffalo the same way again after their date, keep in mind that he actually lives in Seattle, Washington. Back in March 2018, he shared an Instagram photo of some friends who traveled to visit him on the other side of the country. He captioned the post, “Great friends travel 3k miles to see you and can still give candid feedback such as, ‘your wardrobe is turning so Seattle and I hate it.’”
He’s a corporate banker
What’s Tartick doing with his life in Seattle, you might ask? According to his LinkedIn profile, he’s been a corporate banker at Key Corporate and Commercial Bank since 2010. His current title is “Vice President – Senior Middle Market Banker,” so we are officially impressed. His professional accomplishments are a far cry from fellow Season 14 participant, Kamil, who claims to be a professional “social media participant,” — whatever that means.
Tartick earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the the State University of New York (SUNY), where he also played soccer. He then attended Simon Business School at the University of Rochester, where he earned his master’s degree in business administration for accounting and finance.
He considers his brother and brother-in-law his role models
As we learned during Tartick’s hometown date with Kufrin, Tartick looks to his family for inspiration. Not only does he admire his parents’ relationship, but he considers his brother and his husband his “role models.”
We could certainly see why, considering they were incredibly welcoming to Kufrin and offered sound advice to Tartick. Oh, and the internet discovered his brother looks like Darren Criss, so there’s that.
His charity work got him cast on the show
We can already tell Tartick is a genuinely good person, but his reason for getting cast on the show confirms this as fact. According to InStyle, “Last year Jason participated in a Bachelor Nation charity auction to raise money for families of cancer patients with Gilda’s Club in Rochester, NY.”
Casting directors actually scouted him out at this function, with the adorable photos above proving he needed to be on the show.
He’s a Disney fan
Tartick is a total kid at heart, and we are loving it. Before we really got to know him, we learned a snippet of his personality through his official “Bachelor biography” on ABC’s website. “When Jason’s not rooting for his hometown Buffalo Bills, he’s belting out tunes from his favorite Disney movies,” it reads. “He’s hoping to sing his way into the Bachelorette’s heart.” If Tartick ends up becoming the next Bachelor like some fans are hoping for, maybe this is something we’ll still get to see.
