Bachelor Nation (along with the rest of the world) was introduced to Tyler Cameron during Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. Ever since then, the public has taken an immense interest in the contractor/model’s love life.

As is the case for everyone, dating has been a little different for Cameron this past year. He’s not on apps, but he’s still dating by way of sliding into DMs.

How Tyler Cameron is ‘shoot[ing] [his] shot’ during the coronavirus pandemic

On a recent episode of With Whit, hosts Whitney Port and her husband Tim Rosenman asked Cameron about his current dating situation.

“I am not on the apps, but I’ll send some DMs,” The Bachelorette alum said. “I shoot my shot — a lot of shots don’t get made, but you know, my dad always told me you miss a hundred percent of the shots you don’t take. So I’m going to shoot and some don’t hit, some do, and it is what it is.”

“That’s how you can date right now,” he continued. “You can’t go out and meet nobody, you know? So it’s just kind of like, it’s Wednesday at 6 p.m. and I see someone like, ‘Oh, she’s pretty, I’ll send her a message.'”

Tyler Cameron preferred meeting people in bars over apps before the pandemic

Even before the coronavirus pandemic, Cameron wasn’t a fan of dating apps. He preferred to meet people in person.

“I enjoyed that so much more than trying to just message someone — I never was into the apps,” he said. “I was like, ‘I’m going to go to the bar and I’m going to try and go shoot, I’ll talk to everybody and anybody I can.'”

The reality star said he enjoys going to bars and meeting people so much that he doesn’t even mind getting “turned down.”

“I tell you, I get turned down all the time, but that’s the fun part of going out,” he said. “That’s what I loved about going to the bar. We were going out to meet people and have fun and who knew where the night [would go].”

Tyler Cameron is open to being the bachelor in the future

Cameron also spoke about the possibility of him starring in The Bachelor sometime in the future. He says he and ABC have “talked about it,” and that “there was a time I was really close to saying yes.” But, in the end, he turned the opportunity down. Now, his good friend Matt James is in the lead role.

But just because Cameron said “no” to The Bachelor previously doesn’t mean he’ll never do it.

“Down the road, who knows — I never say no to anything,” Cameron said. “It’s all about timing and when things are right.”
