‘The Bachelorette’: Why Reality Steve Thinks Garrett Yrigoyen Leaked the News of His Breakup With Becca Kufrin
E! News recently reported that Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen broke up after two years together. Kufrin called out E! News and the source who revealed the alleged breakup in an Instagram comment, leading fans of The Bachelorette and Reality Steve to believe Yrigoyen is responsible for the leak.
E! News reported the couple broke up
On August 6, E! News published a report that Kufrin and Yrigoyen ended their relationship. According to a source, this was due to their differing opinions and compatibility issues.
The source reportedly told E! News:
“Becca is still very upset with Garrett’s comments and the controversy surrounding it… Their lifestyles don’t mesh anymore. Garrett wants different things and they came to a realization that they aren’t compatible anymore.
Garrett is doing a backpacking trip in the wilderness with his buddies and is taking time for himself. They are trying to keep it low-key because they are still working things out, but the relationship is definitely done.”

Becca Kufrin commented on the report
E! News shared the article on social media, and Kufrin commented on an Instagram post about the article.
“Lol interesting ‘source.’ I mean if nothing else, the least you could do is spell the names correctly and consistently in your article,” she wrote in the comment.
After Kufrin commented on the post, Reality Steve told fans of The Bachelorette that he views her comment as a dig at Yrigoyen.
“My opinion is this: If I was still engaged to my fiancé, and a major news outlet just ran a story saying we’d broken up and weren’t engaged anymore, my first public reaction to it wouldn’t be to correct their grammar in the story. I took ‘interesting source’ as a shot at him,” the blogger tweeted.

On Reddit, fans discussed what Kufrin’s comment on Instagram could have meant. Like Reality Steve, some interpreted the comment as a way to call out Yrigoyen.
“It was a very strange comment. I wouldn’t have said anything at all. It’s clear she wasn’t consulted by Garrett and he basically asked E! to break the news, with no friendly break up announcement or joint statement because they’re probably not on good terms,” wrote a Reddit user. “I have a feeling it ended badly and this is his childish way of moving on. If they weren’t over they would’ve said so. It’s not a coincidence that he removed Becca’s highlights on the day this came out. He’s classless.”
“Rachel & Van (who used to work at TMZ) discussed on higher learning a few weeks ago anytime you hear the phrase ‘a source told…’ Van said that the source almost always is coming from the person involved or someone directly working with them… Rachel agreed and said even in stories about herself, she’s been the source,” one Reddit user wrote.
The Reddit user continued, “I 100% believe based on Becca’s reaction that they had some type of agreement about how they were going to announce the breakup & then Garrett went and released it.”
