‘The Baldwins’: Everything We Know About New TLC Series With Alec Baldwin and His Family
The Duggars. The Roloffs. The Busbys. And the Baldwins? A new family has joined the ranks of TLC stars. Alec Baldwin and his family will star in The Baldwins, a new reality series for the network, he announced on Tuesday.
Alec Baldwin announces new TLC series
Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Baldwin shared their big news in an Instagram video posted on June 4.
The video opens with the couple teasing that they might be adding to their brood. (They married in 2012 and have seven children.)
“We have an announcement to make,” Hilaria, 40, says before a record-scratch sound is heard.
“Good God, no,” an alarmed-looking Alec, 66, says.
“No, definitely not! We’re done having kids,” his wife says. “This is about our show.”
The couple is inviting TV viewers into their home “to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy,” Alec explains. “Home is the place we love to be most.”
“We’re coming to TLC!” he adds as his rambunctious children gather around him and his wife on a couch. “God help you all!”
When will ‘The Baldwins’ premiere?
TLC has not announced a premiere date for The Baldwins (WT), which is set to air sometime in 2025. The series has been in the works since late 2023, when People reported that the Baldwins were pitching a reality show about their family life.
Alec and Hilaria have seven children: Ilaria Catalina Irena, 19 months, María Lucía Victoria, 3, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 3, Romeo Alejandro David, 5, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, Rafael Thomas, 8, and Carmen Gabriela, 10. Alec also has a daughter, Ireland, 28, with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.
The news of the TLC shows comes shortly after a New Mexico judge declined to dismiss an indictment against Alec Baldwin related to the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halnya Hutchins in 2021. The Emmy-winning actor is set to go on trial in July on involuntary manslaughter charges related to Hutchins’ death on the set of the Western movie Rust.
Baldwin is accused of negligently pointing a prop gun at Hutchins while rehearsing a scene. The gun went off, firing a live round and killing Hutchins. In April, Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months after a jury determined she was responsible for loading the live round into the gun.
If convicted, Baldwin faces up to 18 months in prison. He has pleaded not guilty.
