‘The Batman’ trailer features ‘The Bat and the Cat’
The new trailer for The Batman was released on December 27, a little less than 10 weeks before the movie’s premiere. Titled The Bat and the Cat, the teaser offers a first look at the dynamic between Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne/Batman and Zoë Kravtiz’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
“The Bat and the Cat. It’s got a nice ring,” Catwoman says to the Caped Crusader. “Who are you? What are you hiding under there?”
The trailer also reveals more about Paul Dano’s Riddler. The notorious villain hints he knows the truth about Bruce while also suggesting the vigilante superhero has something to do with the city’s growing violence. “I trust you to unmask the truth about this cesspool we call a city,” The Riddler taunts Batman. “You’re part of this too.” The Riddler taunts Batman.
Then when confronting Andy Serkis’ Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce suggests his old friend has been hiding something big. “All these years,” Bruce says, “you lied to me, Alfred.”
Why some fans are avoiding the trailer
Just like Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Batman has been the subject of plenty of leaks and rumors for the past year. And with the new trailer out, some fans wonder if they should watch or keep the mystery alive. But a few who have seen it suggest it may be better to avoid it.
“If you can help it, don’t,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “No real SPOILERS, per se, just mostly new footage that gets closer to spoiler territory and will have a more enjoyable effect seeing it for the first time in the theater.”
“Please don’t watch it,” another Redditor added. “I regret watching despite the absolute joy I felt after I did. You will enjoy these shots more if you keep them for the cinema.”
While most who have seen the trailer can agree that it is exciting despite the minor spoilers, others are sure they will steer clear of it and wait until the movie drops. “I’m not watching it, nor any other trailer that will come out,” a Reddit user shared. “I want to know as little as possible, and the first two trailers did a great job of selling the movie without spoiling anything. I don’t want to push my luck.”
What is ‘The Batman’ release date?
With all the hype around the new The Batman trailer, many are wondering when the movie will be released. Luckily, the trailer confirmed that The Batman release date is March 4, 2022.
The film will open in theaters. And according to WarnerMedia, the new movie will be available to stream on HBO Max 45 days after the premiere.
