The Best ‘Broad City’ Episodes to Watch When You Miss Your Friends
Broad City officially ended on March 28, 2019, but Abbi Abrams and Ilana Wexler’s friendship will live on forever. Not only does Broad City show a heartwarming friendship between its two leads, it’s also one of the funniest TV shows in existence. For days when you miss your friends because of social distancing, these are the best episodes of Broad City to watch.
Season 1, Episode 7: “Hurricane Wanda”
In this Broad City episode, Abbi invites Ilana, Jaimé, and Lincoln over to her apartment to wait out the storm. Bevers invites his sister Marla, and Abbi’s crush and neighbor Jeremy also stops by. The group tries to find ways to entertain themselves with games and a talent show, but as the night goes on things become increasingly more complicated for Abbi.
Season 2, Episode 5: “Hashtag FOMO (#FOMO)”
The title really says it all, and this episode is great for anyone who is experiencing major FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). Throughout the episode, Ilana feels like she is missing out while Abbi shocks everyone after getting her nose pierced.
Ilana leaves work early to attend a party with Abbi at Trey’s apartment. However, Ilana finds the party boring so she insists they leave. The two go to multiple parties, but Ilana finds the other parties boring too and fears they are missing out on something great.
Season 2, Episode 7: “Citizen Ship”
In “Citizen Ship” on Broad City, Abbi, Ilana, Lincoln, and Jaimé go on a local cruise around the city to celebrate Jaimé becoming a citizen. They manage to attend the cruise party thanks to Abbi’s roommate Melody, who as always is nowhere to be found once they arrive. At the party, Bevers, Abbi, and Ilana end up getting locked in a store room while looking for alcohol.
Season 3, Episode 8: “Burning Bridges”
While Broad City is a comedy at heart, “Burning Bridges” has its sad moments as Ilana and Abbi find themselves distant from each other for the first time. For the past few weeks, Abbi has been hiding her new relationship with Trey, and then Lincoln ends up breaking up with Ilana.
All of this comes to light during a hectic dinner scene with Ilana’s family and Trey present. Abbi and Ilana hug it out, and the episode ends with the two of them taking a bath together in their bathing suits. It’s the kind of relaxed scene that sets Broad City apart from other shows, and demonstrates that Abbi and Ilana’s friendship is the most important thing to them.
Season 4, Episode 7: “Florida”
In “Florida,” Ilana and Abbi travel to Florida with Ilana’s brother Eliot and her mother Bobbi to clean out Grandma Esther’s apartment. The group bond with Bobbi’s sister Bev and the residents in the community. Because of the sunny weather and the cheaper cost of living compared to New York City, Abbi and Ilana briefly consider relocating to the retirement community.
Season 5, Episode 10: “Broad City”
If you are feeling up for some hardcore emotions, then “Broad City” is a great episode to watch. Yes, it’s super sad, but in a perfect way. The episode shows how much Abbi and Ilana have grown and is a realistic portrayal of friends having to move away from each other to follow their own dreams.
