The concept behind Schitt’s Creek isn’t a totally new idea. In it, the Rose family goes from extreme wealth to being broke in an instant. The series centers on the parents, Johnny (Eugene Levy) and Moira (Catherine O’Hara), plus their adult children David (Dan Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy) adjusting to life without money.

The family moves to a small town called Schitt’s Creek and settles into the local rundown motel. While there, they discover their true selves in ways they never could have if they’d remained in their previous lifestyle.

IMDb fans love the ‘Schitt’s Creek’ finale best of all

There’s a laugh-out-loud moment in each episode of Schitt’s Creek, which has an overall rating of 8.5/10 on IMDb. But the two top episodes of the series are the penultimate and series finale from season 6. Anyone who’s seen the comedy won’t find this surprising.

By the last season of Schitt’s Creek, the Roses have fully adapted to their surroundings and have even come to love living in the small town. Both Rose children found love interests in the community. Meanwhile, Johnny and Moira have reached a deeper level of understanding in their marriage and have managed to forge forever friendships with their neighbors.

The two final episodes wrap up all four storylines in a heartwarming way. The two-part finale received an impressive 9.4/10 rating on the definitive ranking site IMDb.

While the Rose family is thrilled with David’s choice of spouse in Patrick, they’re less excited about the big changes coming their way. Throughout all six seasons the family lived together in two rooms of the motel, forcing them to become closer than ever. David and Patrick’s wedding represents a new chapter for the family that means moving beyond the town of Schitt’s Creek.

The finale, which is called “Happy Ending,” won 3 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Contemporary Costumes, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. It’s the most viewed episode of the series with 1.3 million fans tuning in.

Meanwhile, the penultimate episode “Start Spreading the News” also received high marks on IMDb. It also deals with the future of the Rose family and all the friends they made in Schitt’s Creek. “Start Spreading the News” also earned a 9.4/10 rating and remains one of the most popular episodes of the series.
