When he’s not releasing solo music, collaborating with artists like Lil Nas X, or hiking in the forest somewhere, RM is one of the three rappers in BTS

Here are some fan-favorite rap parts from RM featured in group songs for this boy band.

‘Cypher PT.3: Killer’

All of the songs in the “Cypher” series are favorites among rap line fans (as well as a favorite of one of BTS’ vocalists, V.) Technically, this is a song only performed by the rappers of the group, but RM has a way of stealing the spotlight when he starts his verse.

This rapper and J-Hope even caught the attention of actor and wrestler John Cena for their talent, their message, and their “old school” rapping style on B-Side tracks like the “Cypher” series.

‘MIC Drop’

This may be one of BTS’ most popular songs, but it wouldn’t be the same without RM’s part. “MIC Drop” is what Billboard describes as a “boastful jam,” where the boys had a chance to show off their talent and brag about their accomplishments. (They’ve broken even more records since this song’s release.)

‘Spring Day’

This song is the best of both worlds for RM. The idol sings a few lines before breaking into a rap verse. Considered one of BTS’ most uplifting songs, “Spring Day” features the singing and rapping of each of the seven performers.

This song first premiered in 2017, in conjunction with You Never Walk Alone. Especially recently, BTS has been revisiting this song to perform live for their fans. That includes their NPR Tiny Desk Concert and during their “Dear Class of 2020” cameo

“It’s been the roughest summer ever,” RM said as the first notes of the song came in, “but we know that spring will come, so let’s go together.”

RM has a few solo songs available on the BTS albums

Aside from his mixtapes, his collaborations, and his songs with the other BTS members, RM has a few solo songs listed on the boy band’s albums. That includes Map of the Soul: 7’s first song, “Intro: Persona.” He also was the artist behind the song “Trivia: Love” off of Love Yourself: Answer.

RM also has a hand in writing a number of songs performed by BTS, including their song with Halsey, “Boy With Luv.” As one of the members who is fluent in English, he often acts as the translator for this group when they’re doing interviews overseas.

The “Life Goes On” music video by BTS is now available for streaming on YouTube. The K-pop group’s deluxe album, titled Be, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
