‘The Blacklist’ Season 9: 3 Questions Fans Need Answered When the Show Returns From the February Break
The Blacklist Season 9 has had its fair share of breaks since the show returned in October. Luckily after the hiatus for the Winter Olympics, it seems like the series will go uninterrupted for a while. The Blacklist ramped things up in the last episode before the break and left fans wondering a lot of things. These three questions need to be answered when the show returns.
Who is blackmailing Cooper in ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9?
The Blacklist Season 9 introduced a new dark mystery for Harold Cooper. In episode 4, Cooper wakes up in a parking garage with no memory of the night before. He later learns that his neighbor Doug Koster was recently murdered. Koster had an affair with Cooper’s wife Charlene, and to make things more suspicious, Cooper realizes a round is missing from his gun.
It later becomes obvious that Cooper was framed when he discovers he was drugged on the night in question. Unfortunately, Cooper’s friend Lew Sloan tampered with the ballistics report linking Cooper to the murder. Now Cooper is being blackmailed by an unknown person. At the end of episode 9, Cooper finds the bartender who drugged him with GHB dead in his home. Reddit users have suggested Scottie or even Cooper’s own wife could be behind the blackmail.
Will Weecha come back?
When fans caught back up with Red at the beginning of The Blacklist Season 9, he was hiding out with the Xui sisters, Weecha and Mierce. It later became apparent that Red entered a romantic relationship with Mierce. The women offered Red solace in the time following Liz’s death, but this didn’t last forever.
Red became consumed with investigating the events surrounding Liz’s murder. Mierce begged Red to let go of his anger and obsession, but he seems unable to do so any time soon. With this in mind, Mierce says goodbye to Red and leaves. Red asks Weecha if she thinks her sister will come back, but that all seems to hinge on whether Red can let go of his obsession with revenge.
Who helped Vandyke kill Liz in the season 8 finale?
In The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 9, Raymond Reddington makes a shocking discovery. With help from Aram, Red realizes that Vandyke could not have followed Dembe or Liz on the night of Liz’s murder. Red previously blamed Dembe for letting his guard down and not protecting Liz. However, it is now clear that someone else had to have helped Vandyke find her.
Red will likely team up with Dembe to discover who that person could be. However, the identity of the mysterious betrayer is anyone’s guess. A fan on Reddit suggested that Ressler could have unintentionally led Vandyke to Liz. Others suspect Red’s associate Marvin Gerard or even Cynthia Panabaker.
