‘The Blacklist’ Season 9: Aram Is in Danger in Episode 17
The Blacklist Season 9 returns tonight with episode 17, “El Conejo.” It looks like Aram will take center stage in this week’s episode. Aram was recently promoted to lead the task force when Cooper was imprisoned. Although Cooper is no longer locked up, he made the decision to keep Aram in charge. Aram isn’t exactly loving the leadership role, and it looks like he’s in for a rough time this week.
Things to remember before this week’s episode airs
There are a few things fans should keep in mind before watching The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 17. Previously, Cooper was placed under arrest and is facing some serious jail time for covering up the events surrounding Doug Koster’s murder. Red managed to delay Cooper’s sentencing by one month and now the task force is desperately trying to find Cooper’s blackmailer. In the meantime, Cooper placed Aram in charge as the head of the task force.
This creates some problems with Raymond Reddington. In the previous episode, a blacklister named Helen Maghi helps Red and the task force infiltrate a vault in Mount Bastion. In exchange, Red promised the task force would leave Maghi alone, but Aram has other plans. He goes behind Red’s back and has Maghi arrested, and Red is furious.
At the end of the episode, Red tells Cooper that he won’t work with the rest of the task force anymore because of Aram. He calls what Aram did, “the sort of deceit that gets people killed.” Still, Cooper urges Red to give Aram another chance, and Red at least agrees to consider his words.
Aram is in trouble in ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 Episode 17
The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 17 is titled “El Conejo.” The episode synopsis on Rotten Tomatoes reads, “When a member of the task force is captured by the leader of a cartel, they turn to Red for guidance; Red investigates a seemingly impossible heist.” From promo photos, it’s pretty clear that the captured task force member is Aram.
One promo photo shows Aram standing alone in his home, talking on the phone. In the next few, photos, Aram fights with two masked men in the same room. SyFy Wire posted an exclusive clip from tonight’s new episode which provides a little more context.
Aram comes face to face with this week’s blacklister, ‘El Conejo’
In the clip, Aram’s mother Naamah returns. Fans probably remember seeing Aram’s parents during The Blacklist Season 9 premiere. In SyFy’s preview clip, Cooper finds Namaah picking up their home which appears to have been broken into. Naamah says that Aram called her and left a voicemail and begs Cooper to find him.
In the clip, Aram wakes up in the trunk of a car. He is pulled out by two burly men and led to a room filled with boxes of “Supremo Avocados.” This week’s blacklister introduces himself to Aram as El Conejo which translates to The Rabbit. El Conejo tells Aram that he stole from him and will have to pay him back with his life.
