- Fans expressed their excitement about Mierce’s return.
The Blacklist Season 9 introduced a new love interest for Raymond Reddington. In the years after Liz’s death, Red went into hiding with the Xui sisters. Weecha served as a bodyguard and Mierce a kind of healer and spiritual protector. Red and Mierce were also romantically involved, though she left halfway through the season. However, rest assured fans haven’t seen the last of Mierce.
Red became romantically involved with Mierce in ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9
Throughout The Blacklist Season 9, Red has been consumed by his investigation into the events surrounding Liz Keen’s death. However, in the two years prior he spent his time hiding out with the Xui sisters. Red even remarks that the three of them were happy before he returned to working with the FBI.
As Red dives deeper in his investigation, Mierce urges him to quit digging. She clearly is afraid of the path that Red’s anger is leading him down. In the end, Mierce decides to leave. Red clearly misses her and hopes that she will come back, but it’s obvious that Mierce doesn’t want to return until Red is finished drudging up the past.
Mierce Xui is returning to ‘The Blacklist’ on May 6
Karina Arroyave last appeared as Mierce in The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 8, and she hasn’t been seen since. However, Arroyave recently announced that she will be returning before the end of the season on Twitter. “Now that the cat’s out of the bag … Friday, May 6, 2022. Mierce returns to #TheBlacklist. Love to you all!” she wrote.
Episode 19, titled “The Bear Mask,” will drop on May 6. The episode synopsis doesn’t offer any clues as to why Mierce is returning. That is unless Aram is seeking out Mierce’s healing expertise. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the synopsis reads, “Feeling the weight of recent pressures, Aram turns to an unusual outlet for release.”
Recently, E! News also announced that Mazhan Marnò’s character Samar Navabi will return on May 6 after an absence of several years. Samar went into hiding after her vascular dementia caused her to become a target of the Osterman Umbrella Company. Episode 19 will certainly be an important one.
Fans are excited to have Mierce back on the show
Many fans of The Blacklist expressed their excitement that Mierce will be back before the end of season 9. Fans commented on Arroyave’s announcement. One wrote, “Welcome back !! I knew you would come back ! I can’t wait to see you again!!! You and James are great together!!!”
Another said, “I am hoping Mierce stays alive!! Betray Red, fix him, do what you gotta do, but I want Mierce to LIVE!” It’s hard to say what exactly will motivate Mierce to return. It seems unlikely that Red will be done with his investigation by episode 19, so it’s not impossible that Mierce will turn up because she is in some kind of danger.
New episodes of The Blacklist air Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
