‘The Bold and the Beautiful’: Fans Disappointed Brooke’s Co-CEO Storyline Was Dropped
Since its premiere in 1987, The Bold and the Beautiful has entertained audiences with its dramatic storylines. Most of the turmoil stems from business-related storylines involving Forrester Creations. Throughout the years, there have been feuds between family members over the coveted CEO spot. Recently, the show teased another CEO feud with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), yet that storyline never came to fruition.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Brooke Logan’s interest in being Co-CEO
Currently, Forrester Creations is run by Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). The father and daughter duo have done a tremendous job in running the iconic fashion house. Yet, in July 2021, Brooke had her sights set on regaining control of the company.
Brooke arranges for a magazine photoshoot, during which she reveals to a reporter she’s Co-CEO. Ridge shrugged off the mistake, yet it didn’t go unnoticed by fans. Many viewers were ecstatic about the prospect of Brooke and Steffy’s feud for the CEO position. Yet, as with many, The Bold and the Beautiful storylines, the producers dropped this one.
On a Reddit thread, fans discussed their disappointment in not seeing a Forrester Creations power struggle. “Like we could FINALLY get a decent storyline about the power positions in the company for once. These writers have been too afraid to make big changes recently,” wrote one user. Another commenter chimed in with, “I was wondering about the co-CEO storyline too! It could actually be good!”
Brooke Logan was once Forrester Creations CEO
Many members of the family have held the Forrester Creations CEO position. It started with Eric Forrester (John McCook) at the helm, then underwent numerous changes throughout the years. In 1993, Brooke got her shot at the CEO desk.
Brooke was in a legal battle with the Forresters over BeLieF, a wrinkle cream formula. Brooke won the battle and gained 51% of the company, making her the new CEO, which enraged Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery). However, Brooke’s time as CEO would be cut short when Eric eventually reclaimed his spot at Forrester Creations.
Lack of business drama and fashion shows
Business drama and fashion shows are one of the reasons The Bold and the Beautiful is a success. Yet, there’s been a lack of those two elements in recent years. Lately, Forrester Creations has become a place where the family talks about their personal issues instead of working.
The Bold and the Beautiful‘s writing has faced many criticisms. Fans and soap opera journalists agree the show lacks the spark and glamour that made it famous. But maybe a battle for control of Forrester Creations or the addition of a rival fashion house will reignite that old spark.
