It’s not uncommon for soap opera actors to change their appearance. When Atkinson first joined The Bold and the Beautiful, he was clean-shaven and had a short hairdo. After the show was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Atkinson switched up his style. When production resumed in July 2020, the actor was sporting a goatee and long hair.
The man bun became a signature part of his new look, which had female fans swooning. However, recently the actor decided to cut off his man bun, creating a stir. On Twitter, The Bold and the Beautiful fans mourned the loss of Thomas’ long hair.
“Ugh, I’m not feeling the short hair,” wrote one user. Another viewer chimed in with, “Is it just me, or did Thomas look way more sexier and interesting with the man bun?” Although most fans miss the man bun, a few love the shorter hair. “Now he is a Handsome Man!” one supporter wrote.
Character’s transformation over the years
Aside from his switch in style, the character Thomas has also undergone personality changes. As the son of Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo), Thomas was seen as a good boy. However, when he returned to The Bold and the Beautiful in 2019, his personality became sinister.
Thomas fell in love with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and became obsessed with her. He used his son Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) as bait to win Hope’s heart. He even kept Beth Spencer’s (Madeline Valdez) presumed death a secret and used Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) to make Hope jealous.
After Thomas’ misdeeds were exposed, his family turned their back on him, but he vowed to change. Later Thomas undergoes surgery for brain trauma, which appears to be the cause of his erratic behavior. Following surgery, Thomas redeems himself and becomes a better father to Douglas.
Thomas Forrester going back to his old ways?
The Bold and the Beautiful fans were ecstatic when Thomas got over his Hope obsession. They were ready for Thomas to find a new woman and move on with his life. Yet, Thomas’ new love interest has fans worried about the character’s future.
Recently, it’s been hinted that Thomas is falling in love with Paris Buckingham (Diamond White). Although Paris is dating his cousin Zende Dominguez (Delon de Metz), that’s not stopping Thomas from putting the moves on her. According to Soaps.com, Thomas surprises Paris with a romantic gesture.
Under normal circumstances, viewers would be supportive of a Thomas and Paris romance. However, many fans fear this storyline is setting up Thomas’ return to the dark side. For Thomas and everyone’s sake, fans are hoping this scenario won’t come true.
