Bill’s bond with his son Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is tight on The Bold and the Beautiful. However, in 2017, their relationship was shattered by Bill’s betrayal. Liam’s wife, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), walked out after an argument.
Steffy stayed in the guest house on the Forrester estate, and Bill stopped to check on her. One thing led to another, and the two slept together. The next day a distraught Steffy was overcome with guilt and returned to Liam.

Fans aren’t convinced Liam Spencer is Kelly Spencer’s father
Steffy’s affair with Bill destroyed her marriage to Liam. But Liam came to Steffy’s side when she gave birth to Kelly Spencer (Sophia Paras McKinlay) in 2018. However, their reunion didn’t last because Liam chose to stay with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), who was pregnant with his child.
Although Steffy and Liam aren’t together, they remain connected because of Kelly.
Yet, some of The Bold and the Beautiful fans believe Kelly should be calling Bill dad, not Liam. On a Reddit thread, fans discussed the possibility of Bill being Kelly’s dad.
“Bill doctored the results to make Steffy happy. And because the DNA was so close to each other’s for the paternity, it is very possible that they made a mistake,” suggested one viewer.
“When Steffy was getting the DNA test results, Bill was lurking around the hospital, so some viewers think Bill switched the results,” another user replied.
“They have definitely had storylines in the past in B&B where DNA has been switched. Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went with this story,” another fan chimed in.
Is another paternity switch coming?
The Bold and the Beautiful fans pointed out that Bill is still likely to be Kelly’s father. Many characters have had their paternity switched throughout the years. Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) believed Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) was her dad, but it was actually Eric Forrester (John McCook). Also, who can forget Ridge learning that Massimo Marone (Joseph Mascolo) was his biological father?
